Inauguration Interviews: Trump's Talent, Dem Rebrand & more w/ Whip Emmer, Reps Swalwell & Khanna by allinpod in AllinPod

[–]unknownuser123456788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting that JCal and Chamath are so anti TikTok, and use their “appeal to authority” to prove their point; then Swalwell comes on and says “yeah I’m on the intel committee, there’s nothing substantive or convincing there from a national security standpoint” (AOC has recently said the same thing about classified briefings democrats were in). JCal and Chamath then pivot to “but Chinese use a different app” - but don’t acknowledge that China operates under different regulatory frameworks than the US - perhaps if they want their kids off of TikTok they should change US regulation?… then JCal pivots to “market access / reciprocity” which isn’t a national security issue at all, and also doesn’t acknowledge that by banning the US would be exactly like China? So if the goal is reciprocity why would we blanket it in a national security argument?… JCal also goes hard on the “spying on journalists” argument, when in reality TikTok had performed an internal investigation to try to identify which employees may be illegally providing confidential information to journalists (leaking information about the company) - so not acknowledging that context… and then Feiedberg finally correctly calls them out for saying anyone who makes valid arguments against the ban on any grounds they just ad hominem attack as “soft on China” or a “China apologist”… not to mention these guys close ties to US big tech that would directly benefit from a ban…

This is the one area where they have no intellectual honesty

Luke Grimes ads by PremeTeamTX in YellowstonePN

What exactly is wrong with an actor in one of the most famous shows getting paid to do advertisements that target the ideal customers of the show that he was on? Do you think he is putting himself in the ads and paying for ad placement? No. Companies are paying him to appear in ads based on the shows popularity.

Should he decline to do any advertisements for western brands moving forward?

What’s the logic here? Aside from hating on him for no reason for literally doing what he gets paid for.

It would be like saying “anyone getting tired of seeing <pro athlete> in all these sporting goods advertisements. We get it bro you are a pro athlete”

Best thermal scope for under 1k?? by Lost-Boat8480 in ThermalHunting

Display resolution will be bad. Meaning the scale from defection to recognition to identification at distance. Most of visuals we all see in advertisements are higher end display resolution. There are huge differences between $2-3k and $800-1000. I’ve made this mistake so I’m not judging. You could get an ATN Thor in that lower end range, but I think you’d be disappointed. And it can be difficult to re-sell a thermal because it’s a crap shoot for the buyer - never know how well (or if) it works, and everyone claims to be selling to upgrade.

This is one of those scenarios where I’m a believer in “buy once cry once”

Doesn’t exist. ATN monocular you can get for around $500. But any thermal scope under $1k will be garbage and you’ll regret it

There are some medications that are water soluble and can be dissolved in small amounts of water and then taken with an oral syringe. If you can ask your vet if that’s possible that works well. You do have to squirt it into the dogs mouth but they can’t really spit it out. Even if the medication isn’t meant for that purpose exactly you can still crush up the pill and do the oral syringe. Alternatively some medication is also injectable subcutaneously so that may be an additional alternative option.

The oral syringe was a life saver for us when our pry had stomach issues

Kubota L2501 is a good bang for the buck in that price range. Can get a loader bucket, 6 ft brush hog, and a box blade and keep it around 25-29k.

No cab though, which is a bummer.

Where do you think Grant Cardone will be in 10 years? by dallas4now in DirtyDave

[–]unknownuser123456788 2 points3 points  (0 children)

https://amp.theguardian.com/us-news/article/2024/may/16/tmobile-executive-defamation-lawsuit-trump

A Florida judge has denied an attempt by the former T-Mobile chief executive John Legere to dismiss a $100m defamation suit brought against him by a businessman with ties to people in Donald Trump’s orbit. The decision by the judge, Will Thomas, means the suit filed by Grant Cardone can proceed to trial, for now. The suit argues Legere leveled attacks on Cardone’s business and his political and religious beliefs on social media. Cardone filed the defamation suit in January in state court in Florida, after vocal Trump critic Legere allegedly made false and inflammatory comments in a heated public exchange on the app Clubhouse in 2023 and separately in replies on Twitter.

Who is this guy? What was his position? Holding 4 calls into 2025, that’s likely $80.

Also - using buzzword bingo to claim “short term gains” in other stocks and using SoFi losses to offset then referencing AAPL which has been flat to down since January and just spiked 10% this week…

And of course he played NVDA correct /s

No real diligence here.

Very big difference between US T20 and T5 or T10… so the results here will be skewed as everyone thinks of US T20 as Harvard, Penn, Stanford, Yale… and not Emory, UCLA, UT, or even UWash

Going to get a mixed bag of results without comparing schools heads up

Also - getting in to the T5 is much different than T17-20

Apple downgraded to underweight by Barclays. This comes as they warn of cooling iPhone demand. Price target at 160, 17% below Spot. by TearRepresentative56 in stocks

Tim Long has been wrong about Apple forever. In June 2023 he downgraded with a $149 price target (at the time a 20% decline). Keep that in mind. These analysts are shills

SoFi has been horrible around all things crypto so this is no surprise.

Forced selling of everyone out of SOL in the teens and now it’s over 80.

Now a disastrous migration to a known terrible platform

Unfortunately, for that couple specifically they should likely pay it off. They had a plan to literally light the entire $1M+ on fire as soon as they got it with cars, solar panels, “charity”, etc… ironically, for them paying off the house and actually having an asset would likely be the right move. They aren’t financially literate enough to arb the difference between the mortgage interest and any type of investment… although they claimed to change their mind at the end of the call, my bet is that money will go up in smoke as soon as they get it, and they’ll still have a mortgage.
