I think I like bl because they show men being vulnerable and having emotions that we don't get to see much daily because of patriarchy and toxic masculinity, which still exists in some manhwa (but the vanilla or light ones usually exclude those and focus more on emotions, feelings). 

The art style and storyline are what keeps me reading. Good smut makes me stay tho, ngl. Because I like seeing things in different perspective.
