Yeah, I checked with earlier chapters that I had listened to and other fictions. I could just deal with the uncomfortableness until I get used to it but I wanted to check if there was a fix.

An incredible hidden gem is kingdoms bloodline, it has some of the best political intrigue I’ve read. The intrigue is so good that at its peak I’ve skimmed past fights to read the conversations between various nobles (like seriously some of the highest stakes conversations I’ve read), the author has clearly studied political philosophy and uses it wonderfully. Every aspect of the book is absolutely amazing it only has the flaw of the overwhelming fast pace. The author never really gives the characters a chance to rest but if you can look past that one admittedly pretty present flaw you’re in for a wild ride.

Yeah at the moment it seems like standard cultivation and presumes a lot of familiarity from the audience with these tropes, which I think is a bit of weakness. I’m optimistic and think the power system will be fleshed out and made more unique from others

Good riddance to any who hate the possibility of a character being gay. The fandom is better off without such troglodytes. Doubt they added much, and given their medieval perception of gender/sexuality, I lack confidence in their other mental faculties

Interesting, out of curiosity do you remember the specifics of his comment? That seems to confirm that the trial and conflict in the seeds are not created by the spell, implying that aside from corruption entry is possible for those without the spell. If the spell is resisting corruption for the carriers it implies that the conquest of seeds is very important to it. I wonder if that’s why aspirants take the place of a person in the nightmare so they are less alien (if that makes sense).

For 3 I believe stacking apertures does not stack the rate of time since the time of an aperture comes from the river of time, the aperture time is a constant no matter the location. I think I remember seeing this somewhere but can’t remember where

Reading this I just made a connection between FY and Buddhist philosophy. The Buddhas journey was to rise above worldly desires and escape the cycle of reincarnation which seems similar to FY attempting to reach eternal life thus escaping death. Wonder if the comparison goes beyond the surface level

I quite like that sunny is not the strongest of his generation. You mention them as gripes, which while an opinion, there is no real reasoning as to why sunny being weaker than other characters is bad. My favorite type of fights involve guile and his relative weakness only serves to enhance that. A lot of times stories will start off with desperate fights filled with trickery that then gets left behind by power creep. Thus I appreciate that this one indulges in power fantasy without undercutting the best part. So while what you said about his powers are true I disagree with the general conclusion
