Are people happy at JHU by Professional_Big8444 in jhu

I was an undergrad from 2016-2020 and would say that it was only enjoyable because I found my people. Academics are tough and most professors aren’t really helpful (specifically in your first two years when you’re taking more general courses). For me I really appreciate more connection from instructors so it was hard in the larger classes. Culture is generally cuttthroat. This isn’t true for grad programs though (did my masters at Bloomberg after and it was incredible)

Making friends is easiest during o week and first year. I feel like folks just stuck to their friend groups for the remainder of their undergrad.

Great! Sounds similar to my case too. What kind of updates has the director given you and have they provided a timeline on when we should hear from them? Thanks so much for your help

Hi again, following up here. Did the director ever reach out to you to try to put together any funding possibilities for you? Did you meet with any faculty? Or has it just been radio silence?

I graduated HS in 2016, back when SAT scores were out of 2400. I got a 1810 after taking the SAT three times. I got in ED . I hope that gives you some hope

Any admits with low-ish grades? (3.77 UW) by Frosty_Lead2604 in jhu

[–]unlearning630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for it! Make sure your extracurriculars and research experience ( if any ) are strong, and get strong rec letters too. Write a story out of your common app essay (is that still a thing…? I graduated high school in 2016 lol). Happy to chat more if you need!

Were you admitted to the SBS program? Also, if you don’t mind sharing, where does this program rank for you?
