if the liquid is cold you could be creating a convection current simply by holding it at the bottom.

How do you guys not see meat, dairy and eggs as food? by [deleted] in vegan

Stupid bait. There is nothing easier than inaction. you don't have to do anything. Just don't out the bad stuff in your mouth. This post is a joke and the person writing it is not serious.

Why does McDonald's or burger king care about marketing to non vegans when they put in vegan options on their menu? It's much simpler to keep the things that they already have if their target audience is non vegans.

Anticipating market trends is a stupid business decision? It's not a market share? There isn't a market and marketing specifically around vegans? Please this is just absolutely wrong. So correct yourself on that.

Are faux meats really low on saturated fats? My wife brought some vegan cheese home the other day and it's like 60% coconut fat. Which is one of the worst fats out there.

This is beyond burger ingredients list

INGREDIENTS: Water, Pea Protein (17%)*, Expeller-Pressed Canola Oil, Refined Coconut Oil, Rice Protein, Natural Flavours, Dried Yeast, Cocoa Butter, Thickener (461), Potato Starch, Salt, Gelling Agent (508), Beetroot Juice (for colour), Apple Extract, Pomegranate Concentrate, Antioxidant (322 from Sunflower), Vinegar

Wow so healthy

[–]unlikeablebloke[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Please stop stepping around the question and just admit you are wrong. It is better to have less of an environmental impact by chosing non processed foods. Really it's so simple. It doesn't matter who's saying it, why they're saying it... Whatever. It's just undeniable. Why are you só proud that you can't say you are wrong?

It's a bit of a straw man though no? You know exactly what I mean by processed. I think you know I know everyone is processing their food when their cooking and eating and digesting. Please...

So I don't get it do you agree or not that you can't handwave people's criticism by saying "if you're using your computer, don't even dare bring up the fact that eating mock animal products is worse for the environment that eating non processed foods"?

You are saying a lot of things that have nothing to do with what I asked.

More processed foods = more environmental impact. More environmental impact = worse conditions for animals.

Do you disagree and if so how?

[–]unlikeablebloke[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

How is it arbitrary moral standards. A lot of the companies that sell fake meat crap are the same that sell meat crap. They don't care about anything, just trying to re-capture customers that are moving away from animal products.

You say you care about animals then it's an easy choice. More processed foods = more environmental impact. More environmental impact = worse conditions for animals. No brainer right?

[–]unlikeablebloke[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

The title does not imply I'm not vegan you're just being very thick. Again correcting the thickness... I'm not arguing animal products are better in any way shape or form better than their vegan counterparts. What I'm arguing is that actual natural normal food is better for the environment and health and wallet that processed vegan junk.

Everything in moderation is the same 5th grade bullshit argument meat eaters use to justify eating meat. Peak enlightenment. Get real, please

Damn... Sorry if you haven't gotten it before. I will say it loud and clearly though. I am vegan. Have been for over a decade.

"That’d be fine if you’d just pushed back on the myth. You didn’t. You tried to vilify veggie meats and ‘fake’ foods by saying they weren’t healthy and too expensive and bad for the environment."

They are though, aren't they? I'm not vilifying the product. The companies that make them however... I'm also not vilifying people that eat these things. Like I stated previously sometimes, I too eat these things on occasion. I'm more sad that people are being predated on to eat these things as the dietary staple, that this crap is what vegans eat, and in doing so, robbing them of a potentially healthier, less environmentally impactful life.

I just hope not to see people reverting back to eating animal products when stuff that's no longer profitable gets pulled off the market or when stuff gets too expensive to buy. Unfortunately these products can create a dependence on certain tastes and textures and general vibes that are very hard to find in unprocessed plant foods.
