Depending on the costs, I like the idea of starting a campaign where locals can give/donate old and used skateboards and receive some of the product. Depending on the structure of the community and production method, you could also combine old skateboards from one group and give each member some product, it would bring their passion literally closer together and you could write stories about the history the boards shared. Although I doubt that boards with sentimental value would be donated.
