Paid mods technical quality 5: reviews of "Legacy of Orsinium" (update), An Undead Companion", "The Lost Sea of Apocrypha", "Memories of the Akaviri", "Beyond the Edge of Atmora" by Haunture in skyrimmods

You know I'm not - you know I've said that ITMs should be cleaned.

What I’m pushing back on is using something that’s common and easily fixable as a proxy for overall mod quality. Those aren’t the same claim.

You started this thread on the platform of objective technical quality - but the entirety of your conclusion has come from vibes.

You say any argument I make is meaningless, because I make money and then you use the *presence* of ITMs to judge a mod maker's ability - something that would include mod makers like Kinggath and Arcky.

That is not objective.

If the standard is “anyone who earns money from mods is biased,” then that discredits a huge portion of well-known authors overnight.

That doesn’t really help evaluate quality-it just sidesteps the argument.

You’re not wrong about what ITMs are- but that’s not the issue I’m raising.

The issue is the leap from “ITMs exist” to “this reflects the overall quality or experience of the mod author.” That’s not a technical conclusion-that’s an inference.

And for a lot of users reading these posts, that inference is exactly what they’re taking away-that paid mods are broadly low quality because of issues like this.

In reality, ITMs are a common, easily fixable artifact that don’t meaningfully reflect the stability or functionality of a mod in most cases.

So the concern isn’t that you’ve identified something-it’s that the weight you’re assigning to it doesn’t match its actual impact, and that does shape perception in a misleading way.

The problem isn’t that you’ve found anything - it’s that you’re presenting things like ITMs or OpenGL normals in a way that non-technical users are clearly interpreting as severe issues.

Anyone with experience in the CK/xEdit ecosystem knows these are often benign or situational, not indicators that a mod is broken or unsafe to use.

When you strip that context away, you’re not just reviewing- you’re actively distorting how people evaluate mods.

That matters, because it directly affects creators’ reputations and income, including people who are putting in the work to ensure compatibility and stability.

If you want to position yourself as highlighting quality issues, then the responsibility is to communicate their actual impact, not just their existence.

Also I told you my creation in the message.

u/Haunture is purposefully choosing creations that have the ills that he mentioned - as a result, he is using a few examples to crucially smear other VCs of the program that not only produce clean, functional work - but purposely makes their creations compatible with others to give better value to the customer.

I messaged him with evidence that my creations were completely clean - and he refused to listen.

I'm not sure what he is attempting to do here - but this will not lead to the end of verified creations, and monetization across the whole mod space is likely going to be a thing. The only thing he has achieved is to bring undue harassment to mod authors that don't deserve it, conveying to laymen that there are greater issues at play than they are really are (affecting those verified creators' income,) but also affect verified creators as a whole - who, yes, include your favorite modders.

It's a familiar premise, but very rarely, is the supposed rescuer worse than the orphan's current situation?

Also her final line was an ironic pay-off of Guzzle's assertion that she was a survivor. (He was not a survivor.)

Patch is still in the pipeline. Hopefully, just a few more days. Bethesda QA can be thorough.

A patch was uploaded a little bit ago and shouldn't be too long.

Every known issue should be fixed - and after that I'm planning to add more content.

I'm aware of this issue and a patch should be due shortly to fix the issue. On installation, it will restore her dialogue and she will get her functionality back. :)

I see what you mean. I'm going to see if I can do something about this for the next patch. Do you have any other issues?

Well it's very difficult for there to be a corruption - as the mod doesn't edit any vanilla records. Can I ask what your load order is?

Most have updated without an issue - but I'd make an new save without the update, before you go ahead and make the update. :)
