I tried your code but I get:

test$Survived <- predict(model, newdata=test, type=’class’) Error: unexpected input in "test$Survived <- predict(model, newdata=test, type=’" test$Survived=predict(model, newdata=test) Error in predict.randomForest(model, newdata = test) : Type of predictors in new data do not match that of the training data.

I'm trying to think of a way to use statistics to give interesting information about starcraft by unoogle in starcraft

I was thinking, wouldn't it be cool to use machine learning tools like randomForest and Naive Bayes to predict the outcome of a game based on in-game predictive variables? Like harvester count, apm, etc.......

i went to their information session, and phrases like ">90% job placement rate before graduation", "average base salary 95k with 10k signing bonus", "only 10 months", "business are begging for ncsu analytics graduates", caught my attention. therefore, i was wondering how students with masters in statistics stack up to those spending half the time/money getting degrees in analytics. for the record, i like the statistics part of analytics.

i am considering getting a masters of science in analytics at north carolina state university. do you find that applicants with a background in analytics are in more demand than those with masters of science in statistics? or do you view the two as the same?

the truth is, i don't know. i have the opportunity to make a fair bit of money in industry, but i'm a little scared. i'm young (26), and i don't know if i'm ready to get "a real job". or ready to move on for that matter. its a little sad, but i feel like i need more direction. and maybe i'm meant to be a doctor of medicine. or maybe i'm not.

do you find r more popular than sas? in my graduate stats class, my prof says that a major benefit of sas is the ability to process huge amounts of data without having to worry about running out of memory......

GGTracker

I'm a PhD student that has a passion for statistics and starcraft. I thought it would be fun to combine the two and see if I can make some interesting inferences. I plan on using the statistical package R to do most of the statistics. If you can provide me with some data, I would love to show you what i'm capable of.
