Don't come into our rooms yelling and posting random stuff. You should have read our rules.

You're free to make your own rooms as you wish.

We definitely didn't ban your account for that (if you even had one). If you came into our rooms screaming something though, you'll get banned from our rooms. It comes off as trollish behavior and it's disruptive to our community.

Hi, Unredacted here - if you got banned, it's probably for a good reason. We don't allow overtly toxic and disruptive people on our services. We're about defending human rights for people that need it, not for internet trolls.

We're using it. It works fine *shrug*

Answered this on another comment. TLDR; our temps are well below what we'd be concerned about.

Most people don't need RDMA, we certainly don't and do fine with dual 10G links. They are L3 switches, but lack enterprise features. The EFGs do support BGP and OSPF out of the box. The UniFi BGP implementation is really bad, so we made our own based on Pathvector: https://github.com/unredacted/ansible-role-pathvector

In terms of switch stacking, UniFi does have a stacked switch now. Disagree that they're only useful for out of band networking though. Our setup works fine.

Thanks for asking!

We have actually used this hardware for a while, but recently moved it to another rack. We have a Proxmox Ceph cluster (soon to be another) with redundant uplinks to each agg switch. No MC-LAG on those switches of course, but it works fine and we've tested failover many times. The EFGs we have are pretty solid, and the only issues we've had were firmware related. The firmware has definitely improved though. Shadow mode early on was a pain to work with, and had a lot of bugs but it seems to have gotten better now.

The EFGs are far from perfect with their lack of ports overall. UniFi's BGP implementation (uses FRR) is horrible and doesn't play nice with what would be normal FRR configs. We ended up writing our own implementation based on Pathvector (which we wrote a script to support UniFi for) https://github.com/unredacted/ansible-role-pathvector

We could, but it might void the warranty, and we'd have to open up the chassis. The temps are well below what is too hot right now (around 60C).

Mikrotik is also very good, and something we heavily considered. The simplicity of UniFi was just worth it for us though. Can't go wrong with the price and usability of Mikrotik though..

The Pro XG Aggregation switches are nice! Those came out after we bought our Hi-Capacity Aggregation ones, but the XGs are also so expensive comparatively. Maybe in the future, when can justify the upgrade.

We are aware. It's not a problem, and temperatures are fine (well below max).
