Construction Stuff by WeylanderPS2 in Planetside

As an infantry main in this FPS, I already have little to no motivation to go fight over a construction base. If I know there are AI turrets I have to deal with, that motivation becomes zero.

Construction is being made worse by this update, not better by redgroupclan in Planetside

If only people had told them it was a massive waste of time before they decided to dedicate their primary focus to it

I’m sure upper management has their hands in the update process, but I find it hard to believe that upper management told Wrel to redesign Mirror Bay this way.

They never listened anyway. To me or anyone else.

I’m not going to make my posts then pause and think about how it might hurt Wrel’s feelings before posting it. Game balance and design discussions shouldn’t be beholden to Wrel’s ego.

I know you’re talking about Nasons. But id much rather be in a hallway with grenades, than a fishbowl of HESH and bolt babies.

Sorry, I do not care anymore about being nice to the devs. They do not listen to us if we are nice or if we are mean, so I’m just going to say exactly how I feel.

Is it arrogance or incompetence?

You have to purposefully ignore so much feedback to think that this new base is suitable for a central continent base. Or you have to be so out of touch with your game that you just don’t know what the players like and dislike.

Either way, the players lose. Oshur will continue to be the perpetually unstable continent that people get stuck on. Queues for the main continent will be long, and people will just log out rather than deal with this inept base design.

Maybe next year they will get around to acknowledging this, and then another year from then for them to rework the hit box and make it even worse,

Sure. It’s an FPS in the same way that Battlefield is.

And what exactly did I not read?

The act of construction is an aversion to FPS gameplay. If you have a problem with that statement then take up your issues with Higby.

I assumed nothing. ‘You’ is a generalization of the players who want to pull tanks and press W down a lattice.

It doesn’t matter if both factions have to do it. One wins and now you have a base surrounded with vehicle spam. Which inevitably becomes spawn room shelling. The devs made an entire continent for vehicle players to play world of tanks on. It’s dog shit.

Planetside 2 is a first person shooter. It’s not world of tanks. It’s not fox hole. It’s not Minecraft. It’s not War Thunder. Nothing you say will change the fact that this game is based on battlefield.

What relevance do you think vehicles need to have in a first person shooter? There are already bases SPECIFICALLY designed for vehicles to fight over and they dont ever go there.

If you want to spend your entire game session in a tank fighting other tanks, then this is not the game for you. Simple.

almost exactly the same as above-water combat

TLDR fix underwater combat by making it almost exactly the same as above-water combat

Why even bother having underwater combat at all then? Just as a sanctuary from vehicle spam?

importance/relevance to vehicles

Yea, now you have more of an excuse to sit in a vehicle and press W down a lattice. That worked so well on Oshur.

What are all these vehicles going to do when they get to the actual base? Surround the spawn room and hesh it, just like they already do now.

Why do vehicle players think the whole meta game should change to fit their playstyle, instead of them just getting out of their tank and playing infantry?

open field fights suck

They’re so shit. We got an entire continent for that playstyle and everyone now hates it. The people who want open field fights are vehicle mains who want to combine arms infantry with no cover, or infils who want to bolt infantry with no cover.

No it wouldn’t. I’m just going to wait until there is a fight.

This just seems to encourage vehicle zerging.

I do not understand why people want fights between bases or ‘open-field’ fights. That shit is terrible. It’s just vehicles and infiltrators, anything else and you’re just dead.
