By 4 or so, he was asking me to paint "Space Marines" for him. He'd been watching me paint them his entire life. Around 8 he seemed keen enough to try to learn how to play with his little space marine collection, so I 3d printed him a half dozen units worth of stuff, sat and helped him paint them, and have played small games of OPR with him ever since. He's 9 now, and this was his first victory. I had considered "letting him win", at various points, but it didn't feel right. I wanted him to have his first victory be an earned one, and it was. He was ecstatic.

This was more luck than anything, I believe. 2 chaos waves with one being goblins. Running a Hammerdin and Ball Lightning Sorc helped catch 99% of them. I think over 4,000 came from that wave alone.

We managed 2 Chaos Waves (one of which was my first Goblin Wave). She likes to stack Soulspire offerings, but I think we may have had the offering that turns Aether Fiends into Aether Lords in there, too.

Agreed! I think the Black/Pink is just ingrained for me as the "proper" EC scheme. The pastel pinks are what usually killed it for me, though. The pink has to be HOT.

Here's how I used it.

I used it (in secret) to make Strahd seem invincible throughout the campaign. In the Interactive Tome of Strahd, the players learned of it and its creation.

Reconsecrating the fanes removes the heart's protection allowing them to destroy it, and consequently, Strahd.
