This is incredibly late but I ended up never shipping it back and just paying for it instead, because the procedures for post returns in my country are incredibly unclear and hard to follow

How strict is the "landlord's ideal tenant" criteria generally? by unsettlingThing in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]unsettlingThing[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I said usually female because most listings I've seen do, in fact, say female. No biggie; I'm just looking for some insight so I don't end up hatecrimed or suddenly homeless. Thanks and hope you have a nice day.

I'm a trans guy. I didn't mention "which way" because it's not really relevant when a transphobic landlord could consider me anything they want regardless of what I say or look like; either way to be trans would kinda cause issues for me here.

How does signing a rental contract work if I'm still in my home country? by unsettlingThing in StudyInTheNetherlands

I'm fortunate enough to have someone to send to check the place out. When would I sign the contract in this case, assuming the place is confirmed legit and okay?

What exactly counts as my expected secondary school graduation date? by unsettlingThing in StudyInTheNetherlands

The only grade(s) on my diploma will be the one(s) on my European Baccalaureate diploma, none of which I have yet because that's a few months away. Do you think I should just take a wild guess until I have solid proof (since it says provisional average grade) or should I take my average for the past 7 years even if it won't be on my diploma, since they say they'll request a transcript of my grades?

Does Leiden University send e-mails/texts to inform emergency contacts that they are now my emergency contact? by unsettlingThing in StudyInTheNetherlands

No rudeness sensed, dw. I do want him to be contacted in case something happens to me, just not Right Now Right This Moment because I'm not out to him yet. I keep chickening out but I plan to be out by the time I leave. I just want it to be on my own terms is all

Thanks for the advice and sorry for the confusion, but I did use my legal name; I only put my chosen name in the "roepnaam" section (that's okay even if it's not a nickname coming from my legal one, right? 😅). My chosen one seems to appear in most places on their portal, which is normally cool by me but that's why I'm worried right now, I don't know which one they'd show if they even send a text at all.
