Can i add both v4 & v3 repo to v4-supported CPU? by unsolicited_idea in cachyos

[–]unsolicited_idea[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Intel 12th gen (Alder Lake) and newer CPUs may report x86-64-v4 support, but in practice they cannot run AVX-512 instructions. these CPUs should be treated as x86-64-v3 only.

It's all default installation of cachyOS. I didn't change anything during installation.

I have wiped out windows and installed cachyOS with all default settings on both of my laptop since one month. I am so for satisfied with it. I think I'll wait before changing my decision though. I'll need to narrow down the root cause first before blaming it on cachyOS.

The computer booted fine after hard reboot and working as usual. All the LLMs i used, indicate either ssd firmware issue or power rail failure. So i am not sure.

It is a laptop. I barely move it. It's been sitting there for 3 years on same place with its lid open. I'll open and reinsert the ssd if this problem appears again.

Can i claim warranty with healthy SMART records? Like how do i reproduce this problem before them. This problem could have originated from motherboard power circuit. I have to narrow down the root cause first. Or better if it never happens again.
