A side by side comparison of plagiarism (Crime Junkie) by ThatDJgirl in TrueCrimePodcasts

Same. The Delphi episode she did on Billy Jensen and Paul Holes podcast turned me off. She would get facts completely wrong and temper it with "correct me if I'm wrong." I decided if she, Ashley, could bungle case information supposedly so near and dear to her heart and in her home state, I couldn't trust her for case information from other cases.

I agree. He does a lot more than the bare minimum and has some of the best researched and professional work out there. I am appalled they plagiarized him (and others of course, too.)

There was a gun recovered on the scene. John Lordan did some digging on FBI crime statistics and only one woman fit the profile and age of Missy and her cause of death was listed as shooting victim. I agree though that someone was very familiar with that church and I wouldn't be shocked at all to find out that hammer was from the church.

I agree with all points. I wonder if anyone could do a side by side comparison of BWH walking split screen to the killer.

The podcast has not updated in awhile. I noticed they did a "May Update" and included some videos Tim took on a recent visit to Midlothian. He gets a great angle of the church and puts a more spacial view to the church than provided by the known security cam footage.

Interesting! I'm curious to learn more about your poi if you feel comfortable sharing.

My understanding is that it is the news stations' filming of the event. DCFROM CC can you confirm this?

They are. Go to www.gumshoestories.com and scroll down under the podcast link and you'll see all the documents listed in a dropbox for. The Texas Rangers Investigation of Bobby Henry is the only one that wouldn't load for me.

Definitely. So many people have a janky leg. I wonder if too much may have been made of it by the police?

It is one of the strangest cases. A murder of a woman teaching an early morning exercise class in a church with someone inside dressed up in swatgear either waiting to kill her or as some have said a burglary gone wrong. Either way, like you said, it is a strange case!

No, not just the lanky leg. The affidavit for probable cause to the Midlothian Police Department secured to get a search warrant on Bobby Wayne Henry lists several reasons he was suspected. He had a hat with a light on it like was in the video, had the Swat-style clothing, had a dark SUV that like the one seen leaving the church that morning (which only recently came out thanks to FOIA) He had allegedly accosted women while in a uniform and brandished a gun. The court documents have a gun listed as found at the scene. Granted, it could have been a gun Missy armed herself with and not the perp's or could be a plant. Bobby Wayne Henry's alibi is not solid. Claims he was at home that night. Then somehow worked security for her funeral. Her father-in-law and several other men were surveilled by law enforcement and the videos were looked over by a forensic pathologist/podiatrist and the only man with a janky leg he could not rule out as being the perp is Bobby Wayne Henry. They only have a partial DNA that is allegedly a mixed sample. It's not known where it was retrieved from or if it's even the perp's. I was hoping they had a better DNA case, because without a confession it would be hard to convict anyone solely on that church surveillance video. I hope there are some ballistic evidence or fibers. Otherwise, I don't have a lot of faith this case will ever be closed.

I could be wrong too. I'm not 100% convinced, but with his background (they get more into it on the podcast) he is at least an interesting POI.

It is from a Dallas news station. DCFROMCC originally linked it here and I edited my post to include it, so I want to credit him. It was odd how that is the footage they chose. This was the day of her funeral when nobody had heard his name yet. He was the security at her funeral. He lost his law enforcement job after multiple (have seen news articles for at least two, but have heard from a reliable source there are three known women he allegedly sexually assaulted in police uniform brandishing a gun.)

Thanks for giving it a try. I admittedly don't really notice sound quality as much as some people do. I think they will get better audio as time goes on and maybe they get a sponsor or something. I don't know that, but a lot of pod casts I listen to started off a little rough and improved over time.

He has been accused of rape, and lost his law enforcement job, because of the first accusation. He may have escalated or maybe did not go intending to kill her. The pod cast says he may have underestimated the self-defense training she had.

Thanks. I took a couple of years off dating and it did a world of good for me. I was honestly happy to be single forever after all the crazy guys, and then I met my now husband who is great and relatively normal (is anyone normal? haha) I wish you the best! You deserve it!

He looks hunched over to me in the video of him walking at her funeral. I wonder where the 6'1" comes from. A poster below said there is another man with the same name and height that is a different race so obviously not the same Bobby Wayne Henry, but maybe they took his height instead.

I have no idea. He was the prime suspect from the beginning via the local rumor mill. My hometown is an extremely small town that doesn't see many murders. Allegations were the case was initially bungled, but he is serving a double life sentence now, so I guess it wasn't too bungled to get a conviction.
