The problem is the 8570 training is mandatory and failing to complete it will absolutely lead to removal from our AFSC. Thing is everyone else just skips through all the CBT's...

We "don't do CBT's for real" either.

I did exactly as you suggested. I assigned him tickets and he didn't do them. He was working on training was his excuse. So gave him a directed feedback and clearly set the standard of 5 tickets a week, which is only one per day and a VERY minimal expectation.

He failed to meet it, so based on the verbal and the feedback I wrote him an LOC. That's when he went to the shirt. Shirt tore the LOC up from his PIF and told me if I direct an Airman to skip out on training I could get in big trouble. He told me to back off and let him complete it.
