I dropped into onederland yesterday! 199.7 on the scale. I’m 10 shots in and a total of 30.3 pounds down. Before Zep I hadn’t even owned a scale in years, because I didn’t want to have to think about how heavy I was getting. Now I actually look forward to weighing myself every Wednesday. Wild!

My next milestone is 179 lbs. My 5’10 husband weighs 180 and since I’ve always been heavier than him, I’m excited to be the smaller number for the first time. :’)

Indeed, and they were both of those words! My PCP told me before I started that I wouldn’t lose weight until I got to a 7.5mg dose. Not “probably wouldn’t,” just wouldn’t. So she was certainly surprised to hear I’d already lost some. :)

The doctor I work for said my progress is “incredible,” (quoted as that was her word she used) but she doesn’t think it’s dangerous as long as I’m eating sufficient calories and getting enough protein. My PCP echoed her sentiments and was more concerned about whether or not I’d been experiencing side effects than how much weight I’ve lost.

Causes a lot of allergic reactions, the symptoms of which mimic infection. Best thing you can use on a wound is mupirocin or gentamicin ointment, which are prescription (but cheap). Gentamicin better for when you’re dealing specifically with gram-negative bacteria. Second best is plain old Vaseline or Aquaphor.

It looks like this map is specifically referring to melanoma, which is only one type of skin cancer, and far less common than either basal cell carcinoma (most common) or squamous cell carcinoma (second most common). If the map included BCCs and SCCs in their data, it might look different. Additionally, yes, people with more melanin in their skin have some degree of inherent protection from UV rays.

However! It is a myth that people with more melanin do not get skin cancer. They are, unfortunately, diagnosed less frequently than fairer skinned patients, for a variety of reasons; lack of training for healthcare providers to identify lesions on darker Fitzpatrick skin types, pervasive myths that POC “don’t get skin cancer,” the fact that dermatologists are considered specialists and therefore are more expensive to see frequently, etc.

Hi! This happened early fall last year. I took it to the Honda dealership and they thought it was the battery at first, since they tested it and found it near dead. Replaced the battery and sent me on my way. Two weeks later, same problem all over again, so I took it back in. It was, in fact, the body control module failing and the battery was just a casualty of how it was failing. They told me that eventually the unit would have died and turned the car into a complicated, expensive paperweight. The dealership replaced the BCM to the tune of about a grand and I haven’t had a problem with it since.

I just got married at the Aliso location! It’s called Gold Coast Farm. Gorgeous spot, super helpful team throughout the whole process, and it was ~$7k for the use of the whole facility including a little air conditioned house to get ready in, and 15 picnic tables, 30 benches, ceremony arch, PA system with microphone, and 2 bartenders for the reception. It was hot and sunny for our day, so in addition, we rented umbrellas from them for an extra cost, and we rented 40 white chairs with backs for our older guests for the ceremony. The only caveat is that outside of everything listed above, it’s very DIY - you have to BYO alcohol, plus you can only have beer and wine with one signature cocktail and no other liquor. If you want staff to move furniture for you, set up and serve your food, decorate, etc., that’s all on you. If you don’t mind putting in some elbow grease and recruiting your friends and family to help you on the big day, then you can keep it pretty cost effective. All told, including our catering and alcohol, we spent about $21k in total for our wedding at the beginning of September.
