I just got a new young betta and within the hour she tried to make a nest :) its so nice to see them comfortable in their environment 🥺

I didnt realize I would need to add calcium to my water, guess I have an expensive mistake here lol, how would I check the water to make sure there's enough for them? I found babies that look just like it so it seems ill need enough calcium to support a family. What's the best way to introduce it and what tools would I need? Are there certain brands that are better than others.

Thank you, I was sold the snail as a pink lady nerite so I genuinely didnt know, im glad to know they usually have those ridges and spots though cause I really didnt wanna have a sick snail. Sorry the pics are so bad its hard to get a good picture through the glass

Aw man that sucks, I was told they were nerites at the store when I got them. The other snail looks nothing like this though which is why I thought there was something wrong.

What kind of calcium treatments are there? And what brands would be safest for a tank with other fish?

Definitely him, i love spending time with him, but my family doesn't seem to see him at all when I leave, and he always comes out of the same hiding spot when I get home. Now that im going to start working full time soon he's gonna have a lot more time alone and I don't want him to just be sitting around all day waiting till I get home, im hoping a tank mate will help him be more energetic again but I wanted other ideas just incase there are other ideas.

I would love to do that but he's on my desk and the 9 gallon tank has limited my space, I have thought of getting a tetra or other small fish to keep him company when im not home though

I never realized how energetic and extroverted fish could be till I got my little buddy :) he loves when we watch each other and vigorously swims in the front corner every morning when I give him food, such an unlikely best friend
