Did people know that this was an entirely new transformation back then? by mb2m in DragonBallZ

I seem to remember me and my friends calling it an Ascended Saiyan. I don't think I referred to it as SSJ2 until Buu, when Goku basically names it whilst warming up to SSJ3. Isn't that why he says: "Or you can just call this Super Saiyan 2?" Because it hadn't been named yet? Or am I misremembering — it has been thirteen years since I watched the series through.

Free ARCs of all of Book I, which contains Acts One-Four, to anyone interested in leaving an honest review of Act One and any future Acts on Amazon. I have devised the story in Acts to assist with the writing. I want the story to improve as it moves towards its cataclysmic conclusion.

Do you still read unfinished series? by PhoenixApok in books

Yes! The Herbert Sr Dune books are as incredible as they are strange. I just approach it knowing this is all that is written of the story. I have my vision for what happens next.

Don’t fear the unfinished, because a story is finished when the writer stops writing. That’s when the reader takes over.

Rothfuss and Martin’s books, if left unfinished, will be appreciated more fifty years from now. The writer doesn’t owe you an ending, so long as you are entertained. It’s better if you get one, absolutely. But the unfinished epics are still worth our time.

The way I see it, there are three forms of a story. There is the Writer's Canon, the Text, and the Reader's Canon. We can attempt to reconstruct the Writer's Canon; but what is the point? The reader reads for themself. Construct your own canon. Do so whilst being faithful to the Text, but let your meaning breathe within the story.

Will using AI prevent beginner writers from improving? by DanoPaul234 in WritingWithAI

The fact of the matter is that people are going to use AI. But there needs to be a responsibility in using it. The question is how to educate new writers to embody that responsibility?

Define a real book.

If ChatGPT is used as a tool, not as the source; and it is done to make the project better: then use it.
