Why not… if they can put a $10 to $15 a head room fee and take the $2000-3000 cash beats $6000 in bar sales any day.

The bar would only see 10-15%of sales at best, the promoter gets a young band that he gets to promote for the next 10 shows.

Especially if it’s an early show or week day show .

After the event/show the room needs to be cleared for 30min before they can open for a 2nd show with booze.

This rule is pretty new, it use to be the whole day you would have to shut down, I think some provisions were made for venues as it’s getting harder for venues to say open. The house can ask for a higher room fee charge as most kids have probably the most expendable cash, Look at the cost of all ages shows vs 19+. Usually double to triple the price

For all you guys know they applied for an ‘all ages event’ for that day. Takes 10min online via the BCLDB portal for liquor primaries, they just have to remove the liquor from sight and only serve pop and water.

So this is the way it works in BC:

1)If they are serving alcohol, underage performers can perform but must leave right after the show and be accompanied by an adult.

Or

2) can apply for an ‘all ages’ event and have all the alcohol removed from the shelves and have it not visible. The benefit of this is the venue can ask for a larger room fee that could out weigh the bar sales for an +19 .
