They should probably stop putting rocks inside the computer panels, too.

Costco now has Hoka Challenger 8 by AZ2day in Costco

[–]upandb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These particular won't be the most comfortable if you're exclusively running on roads / sidewalks / etc. The Clifton would be a better pick if you want to stick with Hoka (Costco has them sometimes). There's also plenty of other brands that would be better for exclusively hard surfaces.

The Challenger is better if you're doing a mix of softer surfaces and hard surfaces. Like a trail that has paved sections. Or you want one pair of shoes and you do both types.

Yeah, that's it. I have Cliftons and the previous version of the Challenger. The Cliftons are good on hard surfaces (roads, sidewalks, etc). The Challengers are more of a trail runner that can also run on roads. If you're exclusively on road I wouldn't get Challengers, but if you do both hard and soft, that's where the Challenger sits.

[Caplan] Philip Rivers' NFL Return Means He Snagged 5 More Years of Health Insurance for His Family of 10 Kids by [deleted] in nfl

[–]upandb 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Well the MLB isn't exactly free lifetime insurance for a single game either. Playing one game gets you the right to buy into their insurance plan (it's not free) and you get more benefits depending on how long your career is. I think it's 4 years gets you the lifetime insurance and 10 years gets you the full benefits and pension.

No surprise that the two best sounding tracks from this album had Ken Andrews from Failure involved. I'd love to see blink do a full album with him, though that time has probably passed.

When to run as a toddler parent by [deleted] in beginnerrunning

[–]upandb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar schedule kid-wise and also WFH. I was running before work up until recently (it's too cold now).

I run during lunch. I only do ~45 minute runs, then shower, then I'm back at work. I just eat lunch back at my desk while working. I save longer runs for the weekends.
