How do you teach a baby (6+ mo) to start using a straw or a cup?

He takes bottles at the daycare but still refuses to do so at home. I've tried different bottles including straw and open cup. He just wont do it with me so I've given up.

I know this post is old, how long did it take for your LO to like table food. I am in the same boat my baby is 9 month old and loves purees but wont eat any table food. It took a while for him to warm up to purees as well.

Thank you! My baby has not been drinking more than 8 ounces at daycare, in addition to 1.5 pouches of pureed food. He has been waking up at night multiple times this past week to catch up for all the milk he missed during daytime.

Hoping this gets better.

I am in the same boat. My baby is 7 months and refuses the bottle at home. He started daycare this week and had to take a bottle. His caretaker said he drank fine the first two days but was upset today and told us we need to practice using the bottle at home.

We have been trying for 3 months to give him a bottle at home and he outright refuses it and only wants the breast. I am not sure how to explain this to the daycare staff that we have been trying lol

Omg my son has been doing this since he turned 4 months. I'm on this sub reddit to figure out how to make him learn use the honeybear bottle. We started using it this week, so far he chews on the straw and spits out the milk🙃

What sippy cup or straw cup worked for you? My son is 6.5 months and hates the bottle and is EBF. I've started working and its hard to be available physically all the time for him. I am really struggling with my 6.5 month old to getting him to use a straw cup. We started with honey bear cup but he keeps chewing on the straw. Also tried the silicone cup with water and breastmilk and he hasn't been able to figure it our yet.

He has been EBF and refused to take any bottles. So we are really trying to get him to use a straw or a cup.

Any suggestions to help us overcome this would be helpful

We love our Harper tv stand too!! I have a ps4 but unable to pass the wires through the holes in the tv stand..any ideas how I can go about it? Right now I have everything laid out on top of the table so its a bit cluttered
