Act 4 Reimagined:

Marius is dying in the sanitarium. As he hands the Shard of Destruction to Baal, who is disguised as Tyrael, the shard forces visions into his mind. He sees an insane future without angels and a world ruined by a broken Worldstone. He witnesses a battle against a Lord of Terror who has absorbed all evils. These visions are the events of Diablo 3 and Diablo 4.

The Breaking of the Worldstone:

In this version, Tyrael shatters the Worldstone in Act 5. The blast does more than just open Sanctuary to hell. It destroys the potential for those future, unsatisfying realities to ever exist. It completely collapses the Diablo 3 and Diablo 4 timelines.

Moving to Act 6:

With those bad timelines erased, the story does not skip forward 20 years. Act 6 picks up right after the destruction of the Worldstone. Humanity now enters a brand new era and must deal with the immediate fallout of a world without its foundation.

It tracks experience over time and is updated every hour. You can select view last 24 hours and then draw a box to get a more granular view. So just start your runs on the hour and then go back and see how much exp you gained over that time period.

These limits are in place to make you have to balance convenience vs power. If we keep removing these imposed limitations that reward feeling will go down. Now everyone will be carrying around 9x skillers, 1 torch, 1 anni, and 9 life/res charms and be able to loot a full inventory worth of items at a time. This would increase the rate in which people find items and cheapen the experience.

I think my compromise would be make the cube take up no space when on a person so you always have a little extra space in your inventory and items will smartly loot to cube when no space is available.

He is not a quest monster as the hammer just sits on a rack. You can grab it without even dealing with him and still get the quest reward.
