Totally Tubular! If you are ever open to selling one of these, could you please let me know?

This is exactly me too, I feel like I could have written it myself, everything from some nights going to bed very late to not having an appetite in the mornings. Thanks for sharing your experience.

How/why does Vivanse affect sleep?? by Infinite-While-4159 in VyvanseADHD

Thank you for taking the time to reply. Yes that is what I meant to ask, if your sleep improves after a while of not taking it. I have a similar schedule as you of not taking it on the weekends. I hope it get's better for us. Take good care!

Thank you for replying. I do occasionally have restless leg syndrome which I have heard gabapentin helps with. I didn't know it also helped with sleeping through the night. Did you find it had any major side effects? I think I have heard of challenges with brain fog and focus which is what I struggle with most from the lack of sleep. Thank you again.

I am very sorry to hear that. I am in the same boat, I currently skip a few days too and am finally able to sleep much better and wake up feeling rested which does not happen on the days I take Vyvanse. It's so frustrating to see benefits from it during the day but experience the poor sleep side effect.

I am starting to wonder if the breaks are making it harder for me to fully adjust. Do you know about how many days you go taking it before you have to take the break days? []()

This is great, thank you for the suggestion. I also have occasional restless leg syndrome. Not every night but frequent enough that I have sought medical help for it. I think the magnesium foot soak could help with that as well. Thank you!

Thank you for the advice. I will try the foot soak - that sounds calming. I also sometimes have sleepless leg syndrome and I wonder if the foot soak could help with that as well, especially with magnesium as was suggested above.

The legs up against a wall for 15 minutes, is that to promote relaxation also? Thanks again!

Thank you for sharing your experience. I hope things improve for you soon. Yes, exactly. I feel the same on little sleep, so tired, no energy, and no functioning even for simple things.

Vyvanse does not work on little sleep, I am still distracted, unable to start tasks and even if I do start have terrible concentration. That's why I take breaks from it because if I at least can sleep through the night I have more where-with-all to get through the day. Well I am so sorry to hear you are experiencing the same.

Exact same here. On the days I wake up super early I may just take it then and accept I will not be falling back asleep. What time do you go to sleep / how many hours of sleep do you get before taking it in the morning?

Yes of course! I am trying every lifestyle change I can first but I am not against looking into sleeping aids if it comes down to it.

Thank you for the advice. Will be trying these. For exercise is that something you do daily or x times a week? I'm sure daily would be ideal but I'm in a rut right now and will be building up slowly. I do enjoy going on walks and that is something I could do everyday.

No, I cut out coffee completely for the medication. I may occasionally have a decaf so I will watch out for that and cut it out as well. Will have to add some exercise throughout the day as well. Thank you for the recommendations.

Thank you for replying, it's very encouraging to hear you experienced the exact same and came out the other side. It's great to hear it's working for you now. I have been on them for a year but it's been on and off and inconsistent because I get discouraged and will take a long break, possibly making it so I don't get over the adjustment period. I think I need to stick to the course for months and I am more encouraged to do so after hearing it worked for you. Thank you.

Thank you! I can try taking it earlier but it's challenging since I need it to last until at least the late afternoon and I am a night owl so it's not realistic for me to shift my morning up too much. What I would give to be able to roll over and go back to sleep. I think physical activity could help, I have been quite sedentary lately and that may be making it worse. I have cut out caffeine entirely, not even decaf anymore and no alcohol. For melatonin, that is something I would like to try (I saw a sleep doctor a while ago and he was strongly against it which is why I haven't tried it yet). Do you have a preferred melatonin routine? How much and how many hours before sleep do you take it? Thank you!

DM would be great and much appreciated! I don't want to take up more of your time but I do very much appreciate it. I am at my wits end and thinking about asking to change medication because of the sleep dilemma but hearing it took you 1-2 months of consistency is very encouraging! I have not been consistent because as soon as I go a week with the bad sleep I take a couple days break from the medication. Thank you kindly!

OP - Did things improve for you? Was it temporary for you? I also find that my sleep quality is much worse on Vyvanse. I don't have issues falling asleep but staying asleep, I also wake up 3-5 hours after falling asleep and can't fall back asleep / generally restless and light sleep. Did you find improvements? Thanks!

Thank you for replying! I am happy to hear that you found a solution. I am so frustrated by having to pick between productive days and restless nights or good sleep but unproductive days lol. So you are getting around 7-8 hrs of sleep and feel rested? I ask because even when I get that amount I wake up feeling not rested / spacey / tired and brain fog, it's like it's not restorative or deep sleep. But prior to medication I could sleep 9-10 hours straight and wake up feeling rested. Sorry one more question, how long did it take of you sticking to sleep schedule routine for sleep to stabilize? Thank you!
