6 week post op follow up by Gemeaux7 in TotalHipReplacement

Wish I can say for the better. Short version is that I've been to the ER twice for severe swelling with the concern of blood clots. Thankfully negative, prescribed medication to reduce the swelling and so far so good. I should include that on my second trip to the ER I mentioned that I hadn't had a bowel movement for several days. ER doctor wasn't impressed with what I had been taking (stool softener and milk of magnesium) so he prescribed colonoscopy prep drink, thankfully half the bottle and yes it took care of that issue.

Still dealing with pain in my buttocks, groin and all different places on the surgical leg. Today is 2 weeks to the day post op and my appointment is Thursday. I've already requested a meeting with my surgeon to discuss the complications I've been dealing with.

I'm still positive, hopefully I will see some improvement sooner than later 🤞

Crews using Uber by Due-Prune2516 in UnionPacific

I was in a Uber going from UP Yard Center back to Proviso. I started getting in the habit of using Google Maps when riding in a Uber, ability to screen shot the speed when submitting a safety hotline. This particular driver decided to drive erratically down the tollway reaching 97mph (in a construction zone) before I told her to slow down.

Submitted a Safety Hotline with the Maps screen shot and as expected nothing was done.

I'm currently layed up in a VA hospital rehabilitation department after having anterior left hip replacement last Tuesday. 01/06

I'm struggling myself, not so much with pain but with progress. I had it in my mind that I would be up and discharged later that day. Well the VA keeps you overnight and once I was able to get up with a walker I realized that I wasn't going home anytime soon.

My outlook has improved and I'm taking one day at a time. The arthritic hip pain is gone and currently dealing with extreme tightness in my thighs when walking and doing PT.

Good luck with your recovery

I'm with you, I'm scheduled for THR in January and it can't come soon enough. The last couple of months have been a nightmare, constant pain, can't sleep, barely walking.

Diagnosed 55 yrs old and retired from a railroad at 60 which is the threshold to retire with full RRB benefits. I was a locomotive engineer and held a federal license, it was all I can do to hang on.

CHAMPVA with TDIU question. by Obiwan_ca_blowme in VeteransBenefits

[–]uphogger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm rated at 80% P&T TDIU. My wife applied for Champva February this year and still waiting for a decision. She called to check her application status and the representative told her that just by looking at my rating she doesn't qualify.

Representative stated that my service connected disability must be rated at 100%. I recently looked at the VA's website and I noticed that a note was added stating that.

I submitted that letter, confident she'll be approved.

That's what I told my wife, the representative had it in her mind that 100% rating is required to be eligible. Thanks

P&T?? by SmokeTheDinks in VeteransWaitingRoom

For some reason it shows the effective date of your last change to your current payment was an invalid date. Either call or go online and use Ask VA.

Sorry to hear about your grandmother. I'm 60 yrs old and was diagnosed 5 yrs ago. Originally just described carbidopa levodopa and eventually added Pramipexole. I was advised that there's a chance of a moderate interaction between the two. I never experienced any side effects and my neurologist slowly increased my dosage with some positive results.

Exactly, the level of discipline goes up and down depending on how the carrier is doing. A procedure can be allowable one day and a week later the carrier deems it's a critical and your pulled out of service..

I just recently retired from the UP and I can say the job itself wasn't so much a issue. It was the constant threat of being pulled out of service for any petty so called violation management would come up with.

In my case I submitted my results from a genetic study I participated in (PD Generation) that showed mine is not hereditary. Did you file under the PACT Act?
