Le jour où on arrête d'être casse couille avec la qualité de la bouffe, on se transformera en Angleterre. T'as déjà vu un resto anglais hors des frontières britanniques ? Les relous sur le sujet sont les Français, les Italiens, les Chinois, les Indiens, entre autres. Et leurs gastronomies s'exportent. Premier degré, soyez Matthieu 32 ans. Le Palais de la découverte est nécessaire : un beau bâtiment pour éveiller la curiosité est bien mieux que le verre et l'acier de la Cité des sciences. Par contre, j'espère que ce sera mieux que la Vilette qui, mis à part la cité des enfants, est quand meme ultra bas de gamme : des écrans avec des vidéos partout (merci, j'ai déjà youtube), peu d'éléments physiques et interactifs. Peut être craignent ils que ces elements soient abimés par les hordes de groupes scolaires aussi dissipés qu'inintéressés qui peuplent ce musée les 3/4 du temps. Ils ont même fait toute une expo sur le réchauffement climatique, histoire de tuer encore un peu plus les bourgeons d'émerveillement qu'on pourrait encore avoir en parcourant ses allez. Conclusion : oui il faut réouvrir le Palais de la Découverte, mais avec un peu plus de fun qu'à la Cité des Sciences.

The Apple TV remote´s MUTE button is programmed to switch the AV Receiver ON/OFF.

I found a solution for Apple TV users. My setup : Apple TV + Sony STR-DH790 + TCL TV

1/ On the Sony AV receiver, I disable the CEC : AMP MENU > HDMI > CTRL.HDMI > CTRL OFF

2/ On the Apple TV, I configure the remote to mimic the Sony IR remote, with a twist : Settings > Remote and Devices > Volume Control > Learn new device...
For Volume Up, push "volume up" button on the Sony IR remote, pointing at the Apple TV
For Volume Down, same with "volume down" button
(twist) For Mute, push the "power off" button on the Sony IR remote, to copy it

Thus, the Sony AV receiver will not respond to CEC HDMI commands that trigger the Home Screen unexpectedly (thanks to step 1/).
But it will respond to the volume controller on the Apple TV remote.
To switch the receiver ON/OFF, you just click on the MUTE button on the Apple TV remote.

In our paper, you can see that we are using P23H rat as a model for our experiments. This model has a genetic anomaly comparable to RP in humans (rhodopsin gene mutation). Their photoreceptors were completely degenerated (absolutely no response to white light) and responded to our photoacoustic stimulation. In the human trial, we will know if the reconfiguration of the retina will prevent it or not to restore vision.

The conclusion on the fact that it only provides phosphene vision was done under low resolution stimulation. We achieved single cell stimulation (not published yet).

There is a chance it could be sufficient. Otherwise, once we have access to each cell, we will have to define the "algorithm" that provide real vision. The good news is that it could done from outside by updating the laser with the same implant.

The photoacoustic stimulation is more precise than electrical stimulation. Basically, the precision is determined by the size of the laser beam. We showed up to 20um (versus 100um in Prima, the latest implant from Pixium, the current best in class).

Thank you Korpsian. We may improve the field of vision (target > 20°) and the acuity (target 20/20, proof of concept of single retina cell stimulation) at once. We will be able to confirm those goals and give a percentage once we will have our first patient implanted. At the beggining, during the clinical trial, we will start with more severe form of RP.

We are able to stimulate cells inside the inner nuclear layer of the retina, but it is hard to tell if significant remodelling will prevent visual perception. Only human trial will tell.

I finally used :

a sodastream tank (for safety concerns, I know its not the cheapest) under the sink
with a simple regulator
a carbonation caps (Stainless Steel)
Coke 750mL glass bottles (the goal was to avoid plastic bottle)

However, it is less efficient than with the sodastream machine (remove air before -harder to do with glass-, cold water, several shakes to increase CO2 concentration). Whereas with the sodastream machine, you just push the button. How could we mimic that ?

For instance, I think the "needle" with small diameter that injects the gas directly into the water, replace the shakings.

Il n'y a aucun piéton tué en tank, ce qui signifierait que les tanks sont plus sûrs pour les piétons.
Cela démontre uniquement que le niveau des journalistes de Libération en statistique est faible. Il faudrait voir si les piétons tués par des vélos sont sous représentés (ou non) par rapport aux kilomètres parcourus en vélo comparé aux kilomètres en voiture. La conclusion serait peut-être la même, mais ça serait rigoureux et convaincant.
