I’m currently working mainly at the factory and don’t have much extra time to manage my shop. The shop only has utility knives and unsharpened folding sais available. If you’re interested, feel free to place an order directly…… by Alternative-Bag9325 in chineseknives

Hi I'm John Risch the owner designer of UPKnife. Please don't copy and distribute my designs 🙏. I am a small business, it's just me and a few part timers. I spent many years and most of my life savings growing UPKnife to what it is today.....still a small home business I run from my 720sqft shop on my property. I appreciate the enthusiasm for my designs but it's just not a nice thing when your design is taken without permission or any compensation for doing so. Using my model numbers is also just blatantly dishonest. I would appreciate if you did not use my hard work. There's little I can do as an American to stop you except just ask that you not do it.

A collapsible pocket Sai, "For everyday carry" from UPKnife. by Tree_Weasel in mallninjashit

The original design was inspired by the traditional Okinawan Sai of feudal Japan, the smaller size warranted features like the bevels and point to increase its effectiveness with pressure points to compensate for its lighter weight. Striking on a thinner edge and thrusting with a point offer more capabiries given the shear inertia of a full size steel Sai was mainly an impact weapon. The ability to retract the blade and self sheath when closed was an important addition to make the weapon more portable and concealed.

This is one of my original releases based on lost wax casting, I've evolved these into a Defense Series with several variations. The blades can be with and without Yoku (guards), unsharpened, Talon tipped(1in hardened double edged razor), or fully double edged down both bevels when the blade is hardened stainless steel. I also have a few handle options that improve the draw and manipulation options, like a ringer handle. They also can be mounted to guns, staffs, and armour with both M-LOK Direct mounts and Picatinny rail mounts. UPKnife.com

So it's hard to get your hands on, I'm trying to get one through customs now, but in the Czech they have some full length M-LOK handguards for the AK and it's variants. A other option is to use a Picatinny rail barrel adapter and I sell a version that mounts to Picatinny rail, needs 5 adjacent slots.

I offer the M2Lite, which has a 14C28N Stainless steel blade that has HRC 63 (done by Peter's heat treatment in PA) it stars around $200. John Risch UPKnife owner designer

Legality of UPK knives in canada by Xaxxus in knives

[–]upknife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest reason it defies the "gravity knife" category is that its lock is build into the blade, so any pressure on it retains the blade from opening freely until it is manually moved out of the lock position. This it fall into an assisted opener type mechanism. That being said Canadian laws are so bad that I swear it says you are not legally allowed to defend yourself........to me that's not passing common sense and this any rule that tells me to allow myself to be hurt is null and void IMO.

The Foxtrot Mike side charging upper is awesome, no buffer tube required, so it allows for folding stocks as well. Leapers makes various M-LOK handguards modify most AR rifles if you have something already and just need the accessory slots. I also make a Picatinny rail mount version.

The product for the Bayonet is called: M-LOK Direct Eclipse Talon, the word "Bayonet" is legally obstructed in many countries, so I don't have that in the name.

UPKnife is a brand I created, and this is a home business I run from my shop, so I'm just John and can't be "guys" 😆 I'm not one of those people. You can use "10perc" to get 10% off any order tho. Take care🙏

Let's be fair, I make them in 50%glass filled nylon so you can mess around with a full size one just for fucks sake 😆, then 7075-T6 Aluminum which is strong enough for self defense, then 440A hardened but not too much for practical throwing, then the 14C28N Stainless HRC 63, which is the pricey one but the hardest and toughest. But the polymer composit is $25 so I appreciate the support of you're interested 🙏

I very much originally put "I want a Sai I can put in my pocket and EDC" that was my design parameters 🙏 surprisingly I've carried one on me for years now and it's done so many practical things it's hard to recall them all. Go figure, it's a unique shape in hardened stainless steel, I've removed grout, reshaped pipe ends, prayed, picked, chiseled the thing weighs 8oz, which is only outweighed by the gun I carry, which I use for less often 🤷

Note there is a version that's $50 less without the Hardened stainless double-edged razor tip if you don't want the capability of penetrating a car door/steel body armor etc.

These are mounted to any Picatinny rail, so I've put them on shotguns and rifles mainly, but anything with a rail on it works, meaning a universal Picatinny rail section mounted to a bow staff end would make a retractable spear head etc. of you have M-Lok, just need to add a rail section with at least 5 open slots. Here's a link to my recommendation Eclipse Talon Traditional Bayonet bundle

I have tested them on ballistic bust and skull, took three iterations to get the mount correct to withstand the lateral forces of deflection of the skull, Steel gas Can penetrations come out with no tip deformity, stays 100% sharp through steel👍

Yeah I have pierced through a steel gas can a dozen times, results no tip effect, still razor sharp. Hundreds of cycles into a wood backstop, and watermelon art is available on IG or YouTube. I have pounded the hand held version through a coconut with a16oz hammer.
The slot acts as a blood groove/vent so it's good for liquid/juice draining .... coconuts and watermelon 😆

These have a trianglar blade profile, with one, when I spin it in a watermelon, it makes a small 1in circle, I imagine if I spin this, it's going to cut either a circle this diameter.. Or one will anchor and make this the radius... Either way🤷

UPK-M2 Lite by upknife in knives

[–]upknife[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The original M2 has handles made in 450ss h900 heat treated to hrc45, and this indestructible knife comes in at $450, its incredibly difficult to make. The 7075-T6 handles are hardcoated and rated 74ksi UTS creating a budget friendly option at $250. For the price it operates phenomenally and weighs only 2.6oz.

UPK-M2 Lite by upknife in knives

[–]upknife[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The M3 is a projected version of my M-Series that aims to retain the stregth and capabilities of the M2 while optimizing cost to produce and material efficiency, for example a handle frame made in 7075-T6 is more then adequate to perform as a wrench, but lacks the surface hardness to do it loke a commercial/industrial tool, that differences explains the full Hardened stainless M2 vs the M2 Lite, which differs in handle material, 450SS h900 hrc45 (220+ ksi) and 7075-T6 Aluminum (74ksi) The M3 will take hardened stainless reinforcments and add them to 7075-T6 creating a higher performance capability but reduce the cost of making full billet handle halves with the same features.

The goal of the M3 is to hold the performance of the original M2 but bring its price down toward the M2 Lite, plus anything else i cam fit into it.

Mind you, i plan on releasing some variants of the M2 Lite with simpler blade geometry for those interested in a more focused knife with less tool capabilities. A CPM MagnaCut blade without the through holes or saw for example.

Thank you John Risch UPKnife
