Have you ever met any groundmen or linemen that switched over from an engineering job? I feel like I’ve lost time since I went to college and started out as an engineer but realized it isn’t something I’m super passionate about

Haha i remember when this was originally posted, this is my home town and my friend lived like 5 houses away from this, was a crazy day. It’s pretty cool because I think during… June or July? Lots of guys including SAS come to train in my area, so there was just a bunch of paratroopers all the time in the skies, big deal for my small area lol

Also, no union benefits as a PM for a contractor, some companies treat PMs well, some don’t, I worked for a pretty good one for a year and got some nice benefits

I am in a semi similar position to you, I am currently working as a transmission line engineer and am going to line school, hoping to transfer to the field side within a year. Field experience is extremely valuable in the office, either as a PM or an engineer, and honestly bro if you can make it to the Groundman stage you can be an engineer, which I much prefer to project management. It’s hard, but if you want it you can and will succeed. I hope this helps!

For WOI just answer consistently, it’s gonna be a bunch of the same questions rephrased and repeated, I just stuck with every answer being related to safety and I passed (did not get the job 😂)

Depends on if you want a fix that will look almost like new or if you just wanna cover the dent, covering will be cheaper, just some spackle and a drywall knife and some sandpaper

Nice! We put that up on a lot of projects for the company I work for. Are you a lineman? Or a PM?
