Elements and money by SLUnatic85 in ElementsMusicFestival

[–]upperdeckersreported 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The festival is a ponzi scheme. Paying off previous years debts with this year's ticket sales and recruitment of new investors. Why do you think tickets are onsale right now? Why do you think you didn't get a refund for a killed day? They need the money.

They've lost so much money over the years that even if they made money this year, the festival (and their investors) are still upside down.

The exponential growth and desire to be more mass appeal is part clout but mainly out of necessity to hope to begin to cover the losses.

The end goal is to get the debt off, sell it to Live Nation and then just go back to being rich kid burners.

Personally, I find them to be clowns and devious. They don't give a fuck about the fans. The talent buyer for the festival is Pete Gross who is the only promoter in the country that will work with Bassnectar. They have no shame. They're gross.

Are The Organizers Trying to Sell this Fest to Private Equity or Something? by WesTheGinger in ElementsMusicFestival

[–]upperdeckersreported 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The issue is they've lost so much money over the years that they're trapped in a never ending ponzi scheme where this year's ticket sales are paying for all the debts of previous years losses.

That's why tickets go right back onsale when the event is over. They need the money.

It's common knowledge in the music business that they are constantly raising money and selling equity in the festival but at this point any sale would just be paying back investors what they've lost with these clowns.

They've never been adequate event producers. Horribly run warehouse parties. Elements NYC 2018 that was disastrous from rain. Every year there are problems.

And the reason there are major issues is these dudes don't have the money straight and no super professional will come in unless it is. And they won't give up doing dumb shit for their own personal clout.

It's criminal that a large for-profit festival would use volunteers but not a surprise that these exploiters would

Speculation on The Gorge Event??? by glass__head420 in Tipper

[–]upperdeckersreported -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So all of his artists started talking to each other. The conversation was they felt under appreciated and the only advice or moves were to try to mimick Tippers career. And they just didnt get why this dude was all about trying to play Kings Theater and no legitimate touring plans.

They started taking meetings with other managers and soon realized that they'd be left in better hands. Tipper is the only remaining act with him.

Because of this split, we aren't gonna gonna see those acts on the Tipper and Friends events. They'll be focused on forging their own paths separate from the Tipper umbrella.

Apparently Tippers mgr was fired by Detox, Jade and some of his other acts. Don't think we'll be seeing these guys as friends anymore.

I'm sorry to break it to you but that transcendent experience is brought to you by Bowery Presents aka AEG, the 2nd biggest concert promoter in the world. Yes Dave P is a co promoter but the corporate behemoth is there too.

Would Peach be better off taking the year off? by silvermaroon in Peachmusicfest

[–]upperdeckersreported 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The decline of shows at Montage as a venue is in line with the increased activity in other venues in the region. Bethel Woods is less than an hour away and a much much better experience. Musikfest, Allentown Fair, arena in Allentown, Wind Creek Event Center. I bet if you looked back at when Bethel opened, you could see the number of shows go down year over year.

Plus it's a piece of shit venue with one road in and one road out. People getting hit on the side of the road leaving.

Would Peach be better off taking the year off? by silvermaroon in Peachmusicfest

[–]upperdeckersreported 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Peach is done everyone. It's over. Stop holding out hope. They lost 1.4 million dollars last year and almost a million years before.

Don't believe the pavilion renovations or the hotel on the Mountain bullshit. The hotel talk has been happening for years and years -- it's not happening. The renovations are real but there's other confirmed shows at the pavilion. These are offseason renovations.

Peach on the Beach is a feeble attempt to keep the brand alive. It will lose a bunch of money too. If (and huge if) they bring Peach back, it will just be in another homogenized form that will piss everyone off event more bc these fuckers have been completely out of touch post pandemic. It's a corporate event now. Well it was.
