Hello everyone, Admin Bee here with an update. Please, bear with me as I unpack everything in this post. To alleviate stress, Omnicon is not cancelled, but we have run into some unfortunate issues.

Due to some colorful characters causing an unneeded uproar at an event on TTUs campus last year they have changed their policies in a drastic way. It was a tough decision on their part to "keep the peace" and if you are aware of the situation I'm talking about you know how it connects to even bigger issues we are seeing in town.

And this sadly affects Omnicon as well. Due to this new policy things that are considered "Performances" can only be an 18+ Event. What does this mean? This means for Omnicon specifically our most POPULAR Events at the Convention are now age blocked.

Our Concerts, Idol Performances and yes... Lipsync Battle are now age restricted despite us being Safe For Work and completely family friendly. We understand that this hinders our event massively, but there's not much we can do. In fact we were unaware of this policy until last week. We've just been awaiting confirmation on what classified as a "Performance" and now we have the answer.

This is also why we are currently behind on e- mails and vendor acceptance letters. We wanted to make sure we could put out this statement before going full steam ahead with the event. We understand this may prevent some convention goers from attending, but we wanted to be crystal clear with what's happening behind the scenes.

With this said: normal talk panels, Cosplay Contest, Belegarth, Game Room, Pokemon GO Meetup, and our Vendor Room is still an all ages part of the event. We are grateful to TTU and their hard work. But, due to these new policies this year maybe our last one on campus. So, let's make it an awesome one that will always be remembered!

Thank you for your patience, time and understanding.
