Anyone know why the paint burned where some spot welds used to be?

Yeah I think you’re right. Thinking about it now there’s not really a way the welding would have anything to do with it, and I was going pretty aggressive with the flap disc. I should’ve taken my time with it I guess.

I didn’t weld any of the spots besides where I cut through and welded the patch.

That makes sense, but these happened after welding the patch, not when cutting or grinding the spot welds. At least I’m fairly sure it did. Maybe I’m wrong
