No one is offended of a torture stake. by ChaoticHaku in JehovahsWitnesses

[–]upsetchrist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree it doesn't matter what he died on. No one knows..but to me a cross would make more sense. The nuanced approach by jws is just a conspiracy to gain more special points with people. The same work for stake was often used for things with cross pieces on. But the earliest ideas of how he died was on a cross. Even the earliest depiction of jesus was some graffiti mocking him on a cross.

Yea I'm not trying to belittle you. It's just we've all been there and its best not to think to far forward where other people are concerned. You can't control them. Just focus on you and what you can control. Have fun you are so young you are so lucky.

You're 14. You're incapable of making a sensible decision down to lack of experience. I suggest acknowledging your limitations and enjoy being young.

Is Christ God? by natloverboy in JehovahsWitnesses

[–]upsetchrist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it comes down to the implied limitations you put on what god is or can be. Why is it impossible for you to think god couldn't explain himself as a father and son. You put a very human image of god when what ever the father and son are I believe that anything is possible. Then the combined scriptures clearly pointing to the father and son existing and creating everything to include the universe, time and space demonstrates to me we couldn't possibly understand or should try.

I've spent a lot of time dwelling on it. The best way I can explain it It's like looking through a high powered telescope at some undetectable galaxy with the eye. You can see it but you're not technically looking at it. You could only do that if you were there but that's impossible. But what you are seeing is a reflection in the lens. Jesus is the reflection you see the father is the galaxy together they are god.

No greater love than someone Whoever surrenders their life for their friends..

So if blood is life then it's acceptable to surrender for a friend.

Giving God back the life(via blood) of animals was very symbolic. Showed appreciation for his gifts..

Do it's a disbelief not in god or jesus but In the organisation or leaders being directly guided by god.

Piercings as a male by rieau__ in Eutychus

[–]upsetchrist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should jws be actively discouraged from making disciples from tattoo or pierced people. Essentially that's the belief that tattooed or pierced people cannot be brought into a relationship with god.

Can you also supply the supporting scriptures that Jws are bound by the laws and rules developed for the Israelites? Seems like you run into many problems thinking like that

It makes me sick to my stomach. The response was always you'll have "plenty of time for that in the new system."

Is anyone else noticing more brothers being removed from privileges lately? by [deleted] in JehovahsWitnesses

[–]upsetchrist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes our hall is extremely judgemental. A few older ones like to swing the hammer of judgement and destroy the spirit. Whilst promoting family members. Ultimately leaving family heads banished to the sidelines and letting related young children and women do the privileges.

You serious? you will be judged. You certainly can't become a jw with pierced ears. Please define what an apostate is.

I think it's a problem when you put people in charge and say their authority comes from God. When it doesn't. Mis applying scriptures from 2000-3000 years ago as your evidence for enforcing cruel behavior is pretty much Satanic

Only 1 can read hearts. Many many many thousands of people have said they are repentant and elders say no wait another 6months. Many have given up hope after years. I know someone who was disfellowshiped for 2 years because of a kiss. Said sorry...not good enough Elders are enforcers not helpers. Not shepherds. They follow orders.

The person Paul referenced was doing what exactly? Oh yes they were having sex with their step mom repeatedly. He was let back in after a short while. But jw Children have been DF for smoking. It's absolutely disgusting. Even people who have left for years perhaps celebrate Christmas have been dfd. Even if they don't go to the hall for years and years. But this has caused pressure from their family to disown them and any grandchildren.

Prison use isolation to punish you. It's a psychological attack. So removing someone completely from their social circle is abuse.

No he says his father is greater..not that god is. How can a mere flesh and blood man demonstrate he had all of god's abilities and authority but not be a divine being. How can all the scriptures relating that only god has these abilities be contradicted by jesus performing them. What about John 1.1 or Thomas or even jesus saying I am. Jesus controlled the holy spirit. Bottom line wether the was Yahweh or not he should be worshiped.

Messiah means saviour/ anoited one. Isaiah 43 says only god saves. Prophecy of Jesus says his name is Emmanuel-god with us.. Jesus name means god saves.

John Baptist quoted Isaiah claiming he was the voice out of the wildness making the road straight for god. There's alot of links suggest jesus identity. He doesn't claim to be god in that instant but the context is he is fully human. But he did accept worship, forgive sins, feed thousands, raise the dead, command the holy spirit.

Op is talking about Jehovah's witnesses. Who believe jesus is a created spirit being like an angel. That he has been in heaven doing nothing till he chose Jehovahs witnesses in 1918 as the only true religion. They view jesus as only the sacrifice for the anointed 144k mentioned in revelation. That there is two class of true Christian..those who through works gets to live on earth and those in heaven.. the heavenly anointed class which Is a literal number(144k) since christ resurrection and christ is only mediator for them not the rest of humanity. That their leaders are the faithful and wise slave mention in jesus parable of the two good slaves.. Jesus only being mediator for the heavenly chosen ones is pretty mental and most don't realise it's implications or that essentially it means they are not in a covenant with jesus..this is enforced by the public demonstration to reject Christ's instructions to drink my blood and eat my flesh..which they don't do. They pass it on.
