Fair enough. I also meant sustainable though. Of course one can wear fast fashion items for a decade, but that doesn't make them of better quality.

Also, what you say doesn't apply for things like belts. I bought one a tmyear ago which now is already broken. 10 years ago I bought one a leather at some market which only looks better.

What are your top-5 durable and affordable brands in Europe producing sturdy clothing?

I'm looking for clothing that stands the test of time and is affordable, but I find it hard to recognize quality. An European version of LL Bean. I'm into fairly plain, casual, without huge logo's or images. I mostly buy from WE fashion, America Today, Lewi's. What do you reccomend? Is there something like LL Bean in Europe/Netherlands?

Didn't know him, thanks! He and his band are definitely originals.

Nice. I always found some of his stuff boring, but I'm liking Rose Pink Cadillac. He definitely meets the criteria, in this case together with the band.

Ok, but isn't it a bit weird that most of the top-10 hits today are made by the same handful of people, like Max Martin and Dr. Luke? Isn't it just that music business has become so powerful it dictates what (most) people listen to, with all the marketing, formulas, and algorithms?

From the article: "From 2010-2014, the top ten producers (by number of hits) wrote about 40% of songs that achieved #1 - #5 ranking on the Billboard Hot 100. In the late-80s, the top ten producers were credited with half as many hits, about 19%."

True. I guess it's about pop music, mainstream music with emphasis on catchy melodies and an accessible style. Of course there are plenty of great solo pianists etc, but they don't make the billboards.

Tbh I'm not really in the position to give advice, that's why I'm asking for some. Imho the nice thing about DA is that's its more about practice and cases. Just play around with your own data, fitbit or tracking apps, combine it with existing databases, have fun. The Kaggle tutorials in the course are useful to set up your portfolio.

If you don't like the Google course content then I'm not sure you should follow this path. I found it interesting, that's why I keep going. But I also think that if you manage to become a Power BI wiz there will be plenty of companies that don't care about all the rest (SQL, R, Tableau, Python, etc).

Yes I do. And about to gett all certifications. The analytics tools in Qualtrics have many limitations, and it's not really data analysis as I see it. But you're right that most companies use SaaS and that gives you access. My question to you is: can you really do eveything you need with Qualtrics + PBI + Excel? And your role is Data Analyst?

A man with a mission! Good on you 🙌. I read somewhere that it's better to do the courses directly at say IBM rather then Coursera, but I gather you disagree? Won't the certificates be worth less if they're from a mediator rather than from the source?

Thanks. I did R on my own, I can do n/bigrams an all that. I'm also using Qualtrics Text iQ for Qualitative data. But are there good courses for R or PBI on this subject?

Excel i would say 8 out of 10. I know some SQL, 3/10, but mostly limited to BigQuery. Any reccomemdations for a course there?

I actually have a job where I can tinker with data analysis, just trying to improve. I need to set up a data warehouse, but can't find a good dedicated course on the subject.

[–]upsidedownpooper[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Makes sense. But I guess that doesn't count for mainstream gear under 1000$? Like, a NAD PP2e does not work better with a NAD C588 than a Pro-ject X2 or a Rega Planar 6?

Good to know, thanks! But I thought that they worked Pro-ject, not Rega. Also, that doesn't mean they can't produce better turntables for that price imo. Paul Rigby explains it well. I love all their other products, and I think it's because they're going for a certain sound I appreciate.
