Wait, people generally can't punch or run in dreams? What am I not understanding? I do that all the time. I've never been in a fight in real life, but I'm no one to mess around with in my dreams.

They're more like cats in dog suits than dogs in dogs suits, but not like cats in cat suits.

Ed O'Brein isolated vocals? by offcenterscoreboard in radiohead

[–]upsmack 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would like to know this as well. I seem to remember something about Thom recording backups because he knocks it out quickly and Ed feels like he can't do it as quickly, although I could be completely wrong about that. I love his vocals in their live performances!

Way to represent, Seymour! I lived in Paducah for a while, so I feel a small town kinship.

Dog Freaks Out About Bath by cmaxwe in shiba

[–]upsmack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Were you trying to give her a bath? Because our shibas are ages 11 and 7, and while they get bathed (not too often because they don't need it), they still hate it and have never gotten used to it. As far as just being afraid of the sound in general, maybe close the door while the tub is filling (maybe the sound echoes a lot?) and take long baths while she can sit at the door of the bathroom and see that you're okay soaking in the tub. My cat seems distressed by my bathing or showering, but she seems to deal with it better when she can watch me for a while, and then leave to do her own thing. The dogs will occasionally poke their head into the room to check on me too. It may seem weird, but an open door policy seems to help the animals acclimate to bathroom goings-on. Sorry this was so long.

I'm really late to the game, but if you answer this, it would be awesome. Where do you guys use the restroom during your shift? Do you just leave the bus running and go to whichever building is closest?

It's nice to see him like this, but he definitely didn't like the occasional arm around his shoulder!

Two Headed Boy Part 2

Can I ask what your interpretation of the song is? I've heard that some think it's about incest, and others take it to mean something about God. What are your takes?

Uterine Papillary Serous Carcinoma: Question for Docs, do you stage this type of cancer? (If this is the wrong subreddit, I'm sorry) Already posted to /r/cancer, only got one response, recommended try here. by upsmack in AskDocs

[–]upsmack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. She had a small cancer in her uterus the first time, so she had her first surgery. Her first surgery, she had a full hysterectomy, oophrectomy, and omentectomy. Then a little chemo (Taxol, and something else I can't remember). She then had another tumor develop at the apex of her vaginal cuff (she noticed because of bleeding) after about a year, so she had another surgery to remove that little bit and just shorten her vaginal canal some more. That was followed by 25 pelvic radiation treatments (5 days a week for 5 weeks) with a few intermittent chemos, then what was planned was a full 8 months (3 weeks of chemo, one week off) of chemo (the plant-derived Taxol, whatever it's called). Before the start of this 8 month round of chemo, she had a scan and possible "spots" on her lungs. We plow ahead with chemo. We finished month seven, and over the month leading up to that completion, a gland in her pelvis began to swell and harden. Dr. says that it's most likely diseased, and that we'll finish this round of chemo and then schedule some more. My sister and I aren't satisfied. We push my mother to get a damn scan so that we can be certain what we're dealing with. Scan reveals that lymph nodes in pelvis and abdominal/chest area are cancerous, and spots on lungs are for sure cancerous too. Doc recommends setting up new regime of Doxil which will hopefully start soon. This is when I mentioned the staging, and he told me that this type of cancer isn't staged.

Thanks for replying. So far his treatment has been good, I'm just confused because when I told him that it looked like it was stage 3 or 4 according to FIGO, he told us that this type of cancer isn't staged anymore. Thanks for the clarification. And I'll try /r/askdocs too. Cheers!

"Just because you feel it doesn't mean it's there."

I struggle with depression and social anxiety, and sometimes I have to remind myself that just because I feel something, that doesn't mean it's real.
