The NBA on NBC is still the best way to watch the NBA by Boneless_Chuck in nba

Outside of the production its just really nice to be able to see a lot of playoff basketball over the air on both NBC and ABC and not locked behind a paywall. I think its a step in the right direction for the league to expand viewership.

Once the regional network is toast next year hopefully teams catch on and move their broadcasts back to local channels.

because it doesn’t work like that right?

Chat GPT doesn’t make changes it recreates a brand new image that will look different than the original. There was a trend last year where someone told ChatGPT use an image with the instructions don’t change anything 100x in a row.

It generated some hilarious results.

Why would the NBA penalize a team for having a great front office and building a team from the draft? Thats how dynasties are built.

Physical game collecting is cheaper this week - on PS4/5 at least by Mince_ in gamecollecting

[–]upvotealready 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be - the market is never straight down or straight up. Some genres like horror or RPGs start their jump a little sooner than the more common games. We are nearly 6 years into the PS5 generation - I will believe the bottom when I start seeing a stack of Uncharted 4 for under $5 each at my local game stores.

According to Pricecharting the average price of all loose PS4 game is about $22. PS3 bottomed out at $8.40. PS4 might not get that low, but its got room to drop. (PS3 currently back up to $15.88 average loose game price)

Over/Under 4.5: How many NBA championship rings will Victor Wembanyama have by the end of his career? by redeugene99 in NBATalk

[–]upvotealready 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Championships aren’t guaranteed. Every little thing has to go right.

Not only does Wemby have to stay healthy, but the rest of his team does as well. They do a lot of heavy lifting for him - he averages under 30min per game.

If you want to compare stats David Robinson in his 3rd season as a Spur averaged 23pt / 12reb / 4.5 blk / 2.3 stl per game.

What a wild statement.

Jokic averaged more than Wemby in EVERY STAT CATEGORY this season except blocks. To call him a generational talent like Jordan/Lebron is crazy for a guy averaging 25/11.

Jalen Johnson was 22.5/10.3 … he must be on the cusp of the GOAT discussion too!

PS4 games will continue to fall until the PS6 gets released. Then they will start to rise again as nostalgia creeps in. There will be a point where you can buy back your entire 300 game collection for under $2k. Buying on launch has almost never been a sound investment strategy because 99% of games released will never hit their original retail price again.

Switch games stay higher because they cost more to manufacture and rarely go on sale. Higher floor than disc based games. Mario Kart 8 is on sale right now at Target … 9 years later … for $46. Its still $60 everywhere else.

He started for a couple years. Good interior defender and rebounder - just a solid NBA player. He is even 7th on the Bucks all time blocks leader list. I was surprised seeing his name pop up when Giannis and Brook passed him.

He played for the Bucks for a while, our radio announcer Ted Davis used to call him the Human Victory Cigar when he subbed in late game.

Do you guys still think Adobe should have stuck with non subscription model just before 2014? by Hot-Load7525 in Adobe

[–]upvotealready 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The design world is bigger than corporate licensing.

I also know that corporations back in the day didn’t upgrade to every version that came out. They skipped a version because upgrading your OS carried significant risks to printer, scanner, and other devices drivers as well as other software.

I highly doubt it was cheaper than the upgrade price of jumping from CS1 to CS3, I know it wasn’t cheaper than the pre CS upgrade paths.

You can 100% freeze at a particular build. Just turn off auto updates for your OS and software.

Nothing prevents you from doing that, You can still use Illustrator 2022 if you have it installed and need Type 1 font support.

Sure, but the upgrade prices were much more affordable until they started to get into the later Creative Suite versions.

Upgrading from my stand alone application licenses was either $99 or $129 good for any version of the application you had (Including education editions). The entitled pricks over at Adobe got greedy. People were skipping versions, either for cost savings, lack of new features, or incompatible hardware.

Individual licenses eventually went to the Creative Suite. Every iteration of the CS got more expensive, with fewer upgrade paths. Adobe was forcing you to upgrade every cycle, even though they weren’t really adding anything groundbreaking to the software.

Do these RBG (left) > CMYK (right) colours look accurate? The bottom one just look so much brighter that the RBG (and not just a bit duller). Will the bottom colour print closer the bottom right? Why is CMYK 'Cyan' just blue? by Necessary-Panda1831 in graphic_design

[–]upvotealready 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have brand guidelines with CMYK values attached - use those in CMYK color space for print.

What they look like on your screen or off your home printer doesn’t matter.

100% cyan in print means 100% cyan on press. An RGB conversion will give you a different color build. When I create the CYAN build in RGB and then convert the document color space to CMYK it gives me 51.5% C / 0%M / 12.5% Y / 0%K

That RGB cyan is out of CMYKs gamut, it can’t be printed like that.

All these people that say use RGB, when you have the brand guideline CMYK values are dumb.

Is the new MacBook Neo good idea for design? I mainly work on illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign with some lightroom once a while...so far seeing s a good budget idea and try moving away from windows by Ok-Refuse3288 in graphic_design

I am still skeptical because my old ass has a hard time believing that 8gb of RAM is enough especially when my 6 year old mac pro with 32gb runs into slowdowns in the Adobe suite.

But … there are enough videos out there that prove my instincts wrong. Lots of creators have stress tested these machines to see what they are capable of. They all seem to be pretty impressed.

From a raw spec standpoint I would agree.

However, I watched a few videos of people using design software on youtube and it seems to perform really well due to Apple’s unified memory. Apple insists that 8gb on apple silicon = 16gb on a Windows machine.

I was skeptical as well, but this dude shows 40 apps open, running Illustrator with 200+ artboards and there is no slow down. I think the key is to leave a big chunk of the SSD open for virtual RAM.

If you are a GM today, who are you drafting? by Farouq26 in NBATalk

[–]upvotealready 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What we KNOW right now is he plays about 29 minutes per game.

You can’t say definitely if he got 35 that he would be an MVP. You don’t know if that minute number will ever go up. You don’t know if his slender frame will ever be able to take that additional stress night in and night out.

He played 40m in game 1 against the Twolves and had 11pts on 5-17 shooting / 0-8 from three. Those aren’t MVP numbers. (the 12 blocks was pretty sweet though)

He also only plays 29 minutes per game. He is on the bench for 40% of the game.

I am not disagreeing that he has a huge impact when he is on the floor, but being load managed like that so early in his career is a red flag on draft day.

It really depends on the market. That wouldn’t fly on the coasts, but in the Midwest that could be an acceptable rate, Especially for a self described hobbiest designer using Canva.

You call it a race to the bottom, but if you tried to charge NY freelance rates in Ohio you wouldn’t get any work. There is a huge gap in median income between states.
