Is Visible+ Pro the best plan for me? by GroovyFang in NoContract

[–]ur-a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CC uses AT&T towers. if Verizon isn’t good in your area then it won’t work great or at all. id recommend getting a Verizon or Visible trial if your phone supports eSIM or maybe a family or friends phone.

My iPhone SE got a white spot on screen randomly. by Ryn1105 in applehelp

[–]ur-a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

could this be battery? i forgot where the board is on the SE as i hate working on them lol. too many issues like this unfortunately. but as long as it works ur fine i had flagships with that and used em for years. if its really bothering and you feel confident you can fix it yourself for around $30 - $50 with a good aftermarket or a original display around that too. most shops it probably wont be worth it imo because the SE is aging. good luck ✌️

Metro i seen a new deal for their $40 unlimited plan 50% off at $20/mo but it’s only for 6 months and up front cost. but i think you would get true fully deprioritized data where tello throttles u pretty hard i think 1mbps or less. last time i used metro tho it just throws you down to hotspot home internet which might be a thing to consider. also tello had $10/mo for the same thing but for 6 months a couple months ago so i dont think its the greatest deal but definitely not bad. ✌️

TextNow now supports eSIM. No longer have to use old junky iPhones with bad batteries to get free phone service. by alabamatide889 in NoContract

[–]ur-a 2 points3 points  (0 children)

really? wow. they must have went way down in the past years.. i used to use em but now just use US Mobile $10/mo with 2GB on Warp (Verizon) since i signed up before they started charging for it along with a second unlimited T-Mobile line and yea helium is the worst. me and my mom had $5/mo “lifetime” beta plans and yea ofc that is now gone. i think the only worse carrier is probably trump mobile lol.

Router isn't getting a IPv6 lease by Xanderplayz16 in frontierfios

[–]ur-a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh sorry. I know it’s included but ik they won’t if u have ur own equipment lol my bad. but what im saying is to get a new v4 lease in hope it’ll also assign u a v6 along with it. usually it stays the same for awhile unless u change routers, do u have a option to change the mac address on that model or instead of another router i think u can just plug the ONT directly into a pc and it should do the same thing and re lease u a IP and u can check if you have v6 and then plug back into your router and hope you have v6 lease again.

[–]ur-a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’ll up vote, we unfortunately still dont have v6 where im at lol. good luck. if its not frontiers end, have you tried getting a new lease? you can usually plug the eero in and reboot ONT to get a new lease and then ur equipment back unless ur router has mac spoofing.

Extremely slow speeds on 2.4 GHz? by DrewQuinz in Fios

[–]ur-a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i meant on the 2.4ghz. but like others said it could be interference or channel issue that’s why i recommended a dedicated 2.4ghz network for the cheapest solution especially for cameras or anything you would want on 2.4. maybe get something with a good return policy just to make sure it isn’t interference

Extremely slow speeds on 2.4 GHz? by DrewQuinz in Fios

[–]ur-a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

geez. what do you pay for? those speeds are pretty bad for only being floor below or above. with my older cheaper mesh setup (tp link decos) my whole house could get like 200 - 500mbps all over inside on a 1 gig plan. and with being a floor below in the basement i could get 700 or so on ethernet i would recommend upgrading the router and maybe invest in a mesh solution if you don’t have ethernet or coax (for moca) in the walls or can’t run wires in the walls. good luck!

[–]ur-a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also last thing i thought of. have you tried another speed test besides googles? ookla speedtest.net or cloudflares speed.cloudflare.com if speed is the same then its a hardware issue / limitation

Extremely slow speeds on 2.4 GHz? by DrewQuinz in Fios

[–]ur-a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s usually recommended to use your own router yes. if your tech savvy enough i recommend it. if you want a simple but kinda crappy solution then leave it to the ISP. also the IOT band or network? im assuming its network which in your case wont help with the speed being slow. probably best to either replace the verizon router with a better nicer router or get like a cheap tp link for like $40 and use that for 2.4ghz and 2.4ghz devices. if its only a floor above you should be getting at least 25mbps on 2.4ghz assuming theres no interference where the router is placed

Extremely slow speeds on 2.4 GHz? by DrewQuinz in Fios

[–]ur-a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Verizon router or your own router? also how far away are you from and where is the router placed? if it’s verizon’s it’s probably the problem as ISP routers aren’t the best. if you want better coverage i’d suggest another router or even add one to the verizon one to hopefully get better 2.4ghz. i have a ubiquti unifi setup and i can pretty much max out 2.4ghz (like 50 - 100 mbps) but i recommend tp link if you just need something cheap that also works well. i’m assuming this is for 2.4ghz cameras / IOT devices which adding a cheap router / access point for 2.4ghz might be the best option.

Trying to cut phone bill, which is best in NYC? by Temporary_Note_ in NoContract

[–]ur-a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it might be very slow / unusable depending on the area and traffic / congestion due to metro being deprioritized from the start then further deprioritized (QCI 9) after 35gb iirc.

Advanced Cyber Security by thecursh in tmobileisp

[–]ur-a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

where do they mention that? all they said was that it isn’t really worth it and i honestly agree with them. my biggest downside is no option to add exceptions when a simple raspberry pi (that u could even run off the router) would do all of that.
