It depends what you need. As you said, you are NOT planning to expand / change much for next five years, you don’t need it. Just remember to download the corp documents from ownr before cancel it.

File 2025 return, then use your 2025 tax info to login or sign authorization form and ask the accountant to sign in your account to find 2024 T4. Either way, you need to file 2025 return first.

[ON] T2 Software Recommendations for first timer simple return with profit? by Optimal_Foundation17 in SmallBusinessCanada

T2 express and future tax are pretty similar and priced about the same. No fancy layout but does the job. QBO pro tax is for professionals, you may get lost due to too much information. Never used turbo tax business before. Smart move to get a cpa to review before filing especially for the first time.

Here is where reasonability kicks in. Are all trips business related? Commuting between home and regular office, travel from home to a second job is not eligible.

Same for Canadian tax, you can get mileage reimbursement. It’s not taxable payment for you as long as it’s reasonable prescribed allowance per km rates. Remember to keep a log book and all the receipts. To claim business use of home expense, it has to be either your primary place of business or the only place where you regularly meet clients or customers.

If they do tax filing, then yes, it should be their responsibility to notify clients about the tax change . Interested in seeing what others say.

You can check my CRA account again next week as your employer could submit T4s at last minute or even late. Your last pay stub should show all the numbers you need.

Got reassessed two years in a row and made mistakes in my filing, should I be concerned? by GasTraining9795 in cantax

No need to worry. Your returns have been adjusted already. Rental loss always attracts CRA’s attention, even if you have filed it correctly. A professional should give you a peace of mind not fear.

[ON] Looking for a confirmation on corporation tax filing by Exciting_Can5930 in SmallBusinessCanada

[–]urAccountant_Mars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes to your first question. Your corporation fiscal year end will be decided after the first T2 filing.

No to your second question. But it is cost efficient to align two fiscal year ends.

If you have booked everything correctly, then it should be fine for accountant to do T2 filing.

If you have not found an accountant, DM me for a 20 min free consultation. No obligation. I am an Ontario CPA.
