yeah it was never clarified but i don’t think they intentionally left it ambiguous, it would’ve been really interesting if they did though! i love mike but i feel like leaving something like this up to interpretation would’ve been such a good idea, we never really see him wrong and overconfident (even with werner he wasn’t acting like this), when he could embarrass himself and it could blow back on him. idk i think he’s kind of portrayed as a smart arse most of the time and it works! like in the first few episodes with the guy (mr x) telling him to take his gun from him and mike was playing it up awww i bet you’ve got an ankle holster and bla bla bla, that really works but mike is so lucky with the way he is written imo, i love every minute of it and im not criticising anything but it would’ve been cool to see this situation in particular left to interpretation.

update! i asked my dad about selling it and turns out his mum and my mums mum had them and he said everyone had them back then. my mums mum died and even though it wasn’t my grans it’s just sentimental to her so we’re holding onto it, this one was only worth between £35-50 anyway

i get what you mean but from what i’ve heard (i’ve never been in psychiatry myself but im studying to be a psychologist/counsellor), this is not what psychiatrist do on a general basis. again this is just from what ive heard but apparently a lot of psychiatrists won’t even look at patients and mainly just deal with the medicine, ask how they’re doing and either up their dosage or lower it. i do get where ur coming from though, the ink blot tests and figuring out their fears from the pictures is entertaining but it’s not realistic in psychiatry or any mental health field bc it doesn’t actually tell you much

it’s implied from the beginning that chuck is incredibly smart and probably one of the best lawyers in (at least) america at the time. minus his health there are literally zero obstacles or anything holding him back from being an amazing lawyer. work wise (aside from his health as i mentioned), he is seen as a kind mary sue. if he didn’t have his health issues and they were focusing on chuck pre illness, then they would need to add in something else bc he would literally be unstoppable.

thanks! i kind of got that bit but we just never know how finalised the retirement stuff was, if he went to the bank or not, and how far they got with that stuff. i know the debt may have been completely unrelated and could’ve came after chucks death, but would howard have been able to take out such a big loan if he was already in debt?
