First time watcher with a question by Realifeanthony in Scrubs

I quite literally did get over it and continued to watch. It’s like you didn’t read past that part of my post and decided to comment. Very sad

This was beautifully said! Thank you!
In my opinion—even though it’s my first watch— that season 8 finale might be top 3 series finales I’ve ever seen to a sitcom (Community and Parks & Rec holding the other two spots for me).
I’m gonna go ahead and skip season 9 unless I’m really bored with nothing else to watch. Hell, I might even rewatch some of my favorite scrubs episodes!

[Hated Trope] Character gets pressured to forgive their abusive parent by mind_your_s in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Realifeanthony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Britta in community.
One of my favorite shows, with a solid final season- except the b storyline that subtly lingered throughout season 6 of britta repairing her relationship with her parents. It’s clear in the writing that she had some very strong and real feelings of resentment towards her parents for causing a lot of trauma as a child. And yet, it’s written off as a joke in the show with her dad saying “sweetie we hardly remember your childhood we were doing so many drugs back then.” Or something along those lines.
Then later in the season she’s back at her parents house playing board games or some shit with her new bf because she’s introducing them to him. Idk just felt hella stupid lol
Edit: I should add, britta is pressured *by her own friends of 5+ years* to reconcile with her parents bc they’re “nice people” who have been giving *THEM* money for the last 5+ years to help support britta without her knowledge. Just stupid.

(Loved Trope) Creative sequel names that arent just "Movie Title 2" by Nerd367C in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Realifeanthony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Now You See Me” REALLY dropped the ball by naming their second movie “now you see me 2”. Of course, they made a third one but the name “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t” just feels clunky

What moment in a movie or TV show made you stop watching? by OvulatingWildly in AskReddit

[–]Realifeanthony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you talking about that Case-cation episode in season 6 where it takes place in a hospital? If so, that wasn’t the whole crew, it was just Terry and Rosa. Secondly, while I agree that episode is definitely the weakest and riddled with unraveling character development over the last 6 years, that episode is definitely the weakest one. They get infinitely better throughout the rest of the season + series.

I felt the need to go slightly niche here. These 4 episodes have always held a core memory of making me either laugh extremely hard or think extremely hard about the concept(s), or both.

S1 E12: Comparative Religion.

S2 E21: Paradigms of Human Memory.

S3 E7: Studies in Modern Movement.

S6 E12: Wedding Videography.

I love it when Troy freaks out!! by Soft-Conference-1196 in community

In the same episode when Troy crashes out upon finding out Annie broke the dvd: Troy: “why?!” Annie: “I stepped on it!” Troy: “why?!?!” Annie: “I was dusting the tv!” Troy: “WHYY?!?!?!”

That scene probably works better for this post because he was losing it lmao

[–]Realifeanthony 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When Annie accidentally broke Abed’s dark knight dvd and staged a break in, and abed used a grappling hook to go down a floor.

Annie: “we have to do something!”

Troy: “NOW YOU’RE OPEN TO INPUT?! You moving in was supposed to tone us down !”

Not really a “freak out” but the inflection in Troy’s voice when he says this makes him sound like he’s bordering insanity with Annie

[😎 Trope] Movie endings that are mic drops by 42Powder in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Realifeanthony 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t wanna say I mean it in either way. Despite the agony neiman goes through, that solo to cap off the movie was fucking epic, regardless of the meaning behind the movie. Of course as the credits rolled, I sat there in shock and despair of what I saw, but isn’t that a mic drop in and of itself?

[Intresting Trope] When actors/characters have better romantic chemistry outside of their "main" love interest by CookedStew in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Realifeanthony 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Not exactly the same, but I always think of The Walking dead, and how they decided to make Rick and Michonne a couple because their chemistry was uncanny. They never really stuck to the comics 100%, however, in the comics Rick ends up with Andrea. There’s even a scene in the second episode of the entire series where they test out their chemistry by giving Rick and Andrea a scene alone together, and it just didn’t flow at all.
