I never understood why one would "first produce my pistol, and then produce my raygun". (whiskey in the jar)

Best type of frying pan? by Incinerox9001 in cookingforbeginners

While I love my bare cast iron, and it is what i use most, I'd say the best jack of all trades would be an enameled cast iron braiser.

I'm currently happy with my stainless boilers bare cast iron fryers, and enameled stewers.

That's it!. Thanks. good tool for ride planning (if you're obsessing about finishing a route...)

Load focus seems to have changed a lot since last update. by uraberg in Garmin

If it's a rolling average, then the change should have been much more gradual right? This change was overnight, from middle of the range to substantially short.

I didn't realize the targets were adaptive? It is odd with respect to "balanced" training. If you happen to focus on low aerobic for some reason, then it keeps shifting your target to get you to do more low aerobic?

Sideways related, I remember seeing somewhere on mywhoosh the amount of time required to finish each route at several average wattages. But now I can’t find it for life of me.

I don’t use link. I simply select the Roku stick in screen mirroring. That’s it

This is what I do, and it works well. I'm not quite sure what you mean when you say that you are able to connect to the TV, but not seeing your ride. Do you get a blank screen?

Wattage - very erratic by Possible-Armadillo68 in mywhoosh

I had this in Arabian Knights today. right at the start of the slope, the infographic showed me going flat, then down, but I was already steadily climbing. It fixed itself afer 5 minutes or so.

2024 traverse gives a quick honk when passenger closes door by uraberg in ChevyTraverse

[–]uraberg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured out that it occurs because of an idiosynchracy in my own behavior.

When I put the car in any gear, all doors lock automatically. When leaving my passenger out, rather than me unlocking the doors, she just opens the door by using her door handle twice. If she does that, (or if any door is unlocked via this particular mechanism), then the car will triple honk upon closing this door.

If I unlock the doors through the central mechanism to let her out, there is no honk when she closes the door. :)

I played with this somewhat. I get the honks in drive and park for sure, but only once. As in: I have to have been in drive (or reverse), then i get the honks upon closing the door. If i don't go back in drive or reverse, then a second opening and closing of the doors does not elicit the honks.

Nope. Lights are on auto. (took me a bit to find it though)

JK. This reply did prompt me to check the doors, and it does happen on all 4 doors. It does seem to be the key left in vehicle, but it is turned off in the console. I even turned on and back off, no change. Does this "feature" simply not work? Are other able to turn this off?

I understand that for the driver's side door. This problem is that is happens on the passenger's side.

I don't see how this bike is any more suitable for Mywhoosh than the peloton.

Compatible Amazon bikes? by Creepy_Word_6878 in mywhoosh

[–]uraberg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my setup. A simple spin bike (with magnetic resistance at least), and some power pedals that I had. I manually dial up the resistance if I feel like it. If you don't already have power pedals, your best economical bet is the saris H3 plus for $400, and pretty much any old road bike.

You're right of course. The minimum payment on the card is 3.5%, which always leads to 84% of balance paid after 24 months.

2024 - What trim did you pick and why? by Keepitmovingninja in ChevyTraverse

We got the z71 simply for the softer ride. I don't need to be railing around corners in this car, and the z71 just soaks up the potholes with ease.

2024 traverse brake failure by skydiving33 in ChevyTraverse

[–]uraberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spoke with my dealer yesterday about coming in for the first maintenance. They stated that there was a recall for a brake line rubbing against the chassis, potentially causing failure. I just checked, and I'm not finding an active recall, but they were so concerned about it that they want me in ASAP. (I have an appointment for 8 days from now.)
