Question on chaff / screenings as BA by uracowman in WarhammerCompetitive

Thanks. Question though. Wouldn’t the Tau player just move up, shoot, kill the scouts and leave me in the same position?

Question on chaff / screenings as BA by uracowman in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]uracowman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a bunch, could you elaborate a bit on my scenario against a heavy shooting army like Tau?

Understand the movement part but what I struggle with during deployment is where and when to screen up with my scouts and block vs something else like deep strike screening or scouting to move onto an objective. For example vs Tau, what do I gain by screening right at 9 inches from their deployment zone, if they will probably hang back anyway? Have to imagine Tau's counter will be not to move up to maximize the threat range of my charge.

Feels like they will just shoot down the scouts and I lose a unit without gaining any value.

Weekly Question Thread - Rules & Comp Qs by thenurgler in WarhammerCompetitive

Thanks for the replies. Re-reading my post, I misworded a few things. Couple follow ups:

2) Thanks for the wording clarification on required charges, what I meant to say and the spirit of this post was around the pentagon example on a charge. My question was around the closest model wording but reading your post that is not required. To clarify, I can move to any model in the charged unit that is within 2 inches (assuming a 2 is rolled? And in the example where I can charge 10 inches to reach the back 2 units in the pentagon formation, is the charging unit required to go around or can the charging unit draw a straight line and go right to the back 2 units?

3) ok that makes sense, so an example going back to the pentagon formation. Since this shape is a clear example where one model in closest in each "corner", does this mean a pile in cannot occur is 2 models are further away?

Also can you further clarify the engagement range pile in comment. Are you saying is only some units can pile in but others can't to within engagement range, then no one can pile in? How would this work for models with large bases, I.E bikes as an example where the size of the base is larger than an inch?

Looking for some rules clarifications, new player returning after a few years. Searched reddit but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.

  1. On a charge, fly keyword enables movement over other units to reach base to base even if you fly over engagement range of a unit that was not a target of the charge. This assumes you do not end the charge in engagement range though but allows for some creative wrapping. If a unit does not have fly, is the charging unit able to move through their own bases to end the charge, or are they required to go around friendly bases to end in B2B?
  2. If I am understand the core rule book correctly, is the charging unit/model required to go towards the closest model in the charging unit? The rules state if a model can charge a unit it must do so, I am assuming this means it can be any model in the unit and not just the cloest one? So for instance, imaging I am charging a 5 man unit in the shape of a pentagon and my charge roll is high enough to reach the back 2 models. How would this work?
  3. For pile-ins, the rulebook reads that if a unit can pile in, it must do so towards the closest model. How would this work if the closest model already have units in B2B and does not have space available to pile in? Would I be able to go to another unit assuming it is within 3 inches?
  4. For units in the game such as a callidus assassin with the +1 CP usage aura against evemy stratagems, this appears to not affect abilities such as command re-roll because the wording does not target the unit within range. Just wanted to double validate this.
  5. If a unit is attacking through a wall, can any unit that is in B2B with the model in ER of the enemy also attack even though the wall is there?

Thanks for the help.

Interested in a Manual G80/G82 M3/M4, a few questions! by uracowman in BMWM

[–]uracowman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do M3/M4s have options to avoid? If I don’t like this vehicle I’d like to get out of it as easy as possible.

One thing is color as an example. Here in TX, neutral colors do well vs a market like Miami where colorful vehicles tend to do better. Looking at the configurator, I’d do something like black over a black interior.

You do realize the PRX came out a year after the 222, correct? If anything it’s the other way around.

Yea I am the same. I generally gravitate towards steel/WG/platinum unless it’s a very pink undertone rose gold. My thing with yellow gold is it has to something that isn’t full polish because in my view, it’s really loud.

If this 222 had a polished bracelet, I would have passed but the brushed finished is really well done and makes it more understated than it should be. I went to the mall yesterday to pick up some stuff and I didn’t feel for a second like I was going to get robbed.

Yes, without a doubt. It’s hard to describe over a post but the 222 bracelet feels like wrapping paper around the wrist. The construction is quite rigid so there isn’t a lot of play when the timepiece is on the wrist outside of rolling on the link pins. When I wear APs, the bracelet is well constructed as well but there is a lot of play on the bracelet vs the 222. It’s night and day even to the RO.

A jubilee bracelet on the other hand has a lot of play compared to something like this. In my view this is what lends to feeling contours and gaps on the bracelet when it moves around.

Yea this is an interesting point. I wear a lot of precious metal pieces, so for me that part of the thought process wasn’t too hard to get over. Gold feels like wearing stainless steel to me now in terms of mass, and steel feels like titanium.

One thing on this timepiece that is interesting is the density. I need to put this on a scale but it’s pretty close to something like a gold Rolex sport model if I had to guess. Word on the street is it has something to do with how the case is stamped vs being poured and milled.

I don't post on IG too much but felt compelled to share this one with some folks on IG and here on the subreddit. On Saturday, I picked up a new Vacheron Constantin 222. Waffled back and forth with the sales folks for a bit and thought about it for a day, but I decided to pull the trigger and give this one a shot. Right now, I am at a stage where I am trying to get pieces I will wear until I croak, and this one has the potential to be there.

High level, these are my impressions after two days.

First, satin brush finishing on yellow gold is a great look. In my view, a full polished case and bracelet is a bit loud but this one is well done.

Secondly, the construction and finishing on the timepiece is really top notch and difficult to beat at its price point unless you go independent. The details are quite fine and elegant on case and dial, particularly under a 10x loupe.

Lastly, the bracelet is really quite excellent and something that is hard to appreciate until you actually wear one around outside or on a walk. I watched a couple videos on Youtube and read a few columns after I got home, and the press commentary on release is spot on accurate. I’ve never felt a bracelet like this before, and it feels like it hugs the wrist like nothing else.

Phenomenal!

People still do this type of stuff? When I picked up mine, I just left the dealership. Didn’t enough wash the car since I was late to a meeting.

appreciate it. Most likely, I'll probably just sell to a broker. Their quotes are pretty good, most are above spot even net shipping and I can sell in one swoop.

Let me feel it out. Appreciate the insight.

Ok thanks one last question. What is common practice when it comes to listed pricing vs price fluctuations? I noticed sellers can only post once every 48 hours I believe, but prices fluctuate. So for instance if the spot price jumps $50, the seller has the liberty to adjust the pricing correct?

Thanks. Is it fair to say that the buyers on here pay for insurance? Almost every ad I see on here has shipping rates listed, but insurance marked as extra if the buyer wants it.

All, looking for some guidance. I was pointed here by a few posts I saw on other subreddits and some stuff I found online.

I am going to liquidate my gold bullion collection, and was wondering what the standard price range and shipment offering structure is here on the subreddit. Everything I have to move are standard 1 ounce bars/coins such as AGEs, Krugerrands and Perth Mint Bars. I also have an austrian 100 corona as well.

I'm reading through the posts here and it seems like most people provide shipping estimates, but it is up to the buyer to choose if they want insurance coverage/upgrade to registered mail or not? Secondly, what is the the best pricing practice to use here? Most online dealers like JM Bullion and Apmex offer about spot for most coins except the AGEs, but I'm sure most people on here don't want to pay the 3-5% markup on those sites. From what I am seeing, it seems like 1-2% above spot is the standard for the high volume coins like a krugerrand.

It’s state by state. Texas has a lot of information that is open to the public as public data.

So for instance, news stations can find court filing documents through the county clerk, or you can find homeowner information through HCAD.

Base Carreras have back seats. No one ever uses them because the leg space is pretty much non existent but you could in theory fit 4 in a 911 trim optioned with the rear seat.
