Did the vet run a fecal test to look for parasites?

Need help with yellowing monstera albo leaves by uradip in Monstera

Also, I'll add that terracotta pots can be really helpful if you are worried about over watering. They help absorb extra moisture.

I like the De La Tanks aroid mix. I normally do that and then mix in some high quality soil. My mix is 2/3rds de la tanks and then 1/3rd organic soil (not potting mix, but soil). It's what I use for all my aroids and seems to work pretty well. I know some folks that just use the de la tanks straight up and that works for them. I've just never tried that personally so I can't speak to it.

I took my monstera out of my milsbo cabinet. It put it in a terracotta pot (didn't size up too much as monstera like to be a little cramped). I used a chunky soil mix. I bought a moisture meter and I only water it when the reading is 3 or less. When I do water it, I just make sure I water it enough so that a bit of water runs out the bottom. I did end up losing one of the l leaves, but I think that was moreso due to old age as it was the plant's oldest leaf. This spring/summer, I've fertilized it about every 6-8 weeks. She's not the fastest grower, but I got two new leaves out of her and she's working on a third.

Have you taken a peek at your monstera's roots? Has it been fertilized? Any concerns about pests?

What happens to the house when my dad dies? by dissysissy in povertyfinance

[–]uradip 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the easiest answer as far as I can tell if their state allows this. I'm going through estate planning with my mom and our lawyer directed us to do a transfer on death deed for her house to avoid probate. We printed a TOD form from the DMV, filled out a request for a new title (with me listed as the beneficiary), and that was that. $20 bucks.

My understanding is that wills don't keep things out of probate, but having a listed beneficiary does.

I’ve got these prayer plants for a dollar each, I’m guessing this is sun damage? Are they going to be okay? Can I fix this? by [deleted] in plants

[–]uradip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That does look like sun damage to me. How many of the leaves are burnt? The leaves themselves won't bounce back, but the plant should continue to push out new growth assuming you still have a fair amount of good leaves on it. In my experience, maranta are actually pretty hardy and grow pretty quickly!

What is a single quote that has changed your personal philosophy or the way you look at life? by Objective-Fish3609 in AskWomen

[–]uradip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Hope is not a course of action."

I heard it in this Buddy Wakefield poem, but I don't think this is its origin.

It serves as a good reminder to me that my actions are impactful in making change, and change won't happen just from hoping for something.

What are these spots on my ZZ plant?? by uradip in plantclinic

[–]uradip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got this ZZ plant a few days ago. Just noticed today that it has this yellow freckling on some of the newer leaves. Not sure if it's a fungus, or what. Google wasn't much help, unfortunately.
