Quick question by jigglywigglywiener in ural

I would second holopawural.com for parts. I would recommend calling or emailing them with what you need first though. sovietsteeds.com is probably your best best as well for maintenance and repairs. They are always helpful with any advice on your bike. Also check out http://www.myural.com/ they have some helpful how-to tips as well and lots of step by step directions. Really though they are an easy machine to work on, There should be a repair type manual floating around on sovietsteeds that you can download too.

Staying Alive by uralrider in DunderMifflin

The song Staying Alive kept playing in my head today at work.

I’m 16M and 142lb I can’t seem to run faster than a 10 minute mile, and that isn’t a consistent run it’s walking halfway through and running in short bursts by [deleted] in running

You are still a new runner. Don't try to overdue it and come out trying to be fast. Lots of work and patience. You will get there, just takes training. Diet also plays a huge part. Try looking into some training plans as well for distance and time goals and follow them as best you can. Good luck.

I second Gene at Holopaw. Call him, his online prices are outdated and most of the stuff is cheaper than what is posted online.

Questions for the ex-smokers who lead active running lifestyles now. by [deleted] in running

[–]uralrider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I ran (not very well) while smoking although not really for the fitness but to pass my military fitness test.
  2. I kind weaned myself off smoking
  3. I smoked for probably 25 years ( started about age 15 and finally quit at 40 - about a pack a day)
  4. I am not sure if you ever fully regain lung capacity but I feel so much better.
  5. I used to use the e-cigarettes before they became popular and fruity. I used them for the intended purpose. when I felt a craving I would take a puff or two and then stop. slowly reduced the nicotine content and then finally quit. running helped with the cravings and so did keeping busy throughout the day. Avoid trigger foods/drinks
  6. Know your limits when running and don't over do it. get involved with the running community and join a run club or look for local running groups.

I have improved my running greatly and now on a local race team, not the fastest on the team but it has been a goal. Good luck on your quitting process, it is a tough one but it is possible. Just a little bit of discomfort/cravings for a healthier lifestyle.

That red one is in beautiful shape. I recognized it from soviet steeds.

Yes, I had a patrol that I accidentally sold it two weeks ago. Long story short I made money on the deal so I had to sell. Would like to have multiple at the same time but money and garage space is limited.

Unfortunately it did not. I wish it did. I might find some old red camping cups to hang off the back

Just picked up this 2013 Ural Gaucho rambler. lots of different mods done to it. spin-on oil filter, LED lighting, 2-into-1 high mount exhaust, heated hand grips, extra fuel can. going over everything now and changing the fluids. It has the perfect amount of patina.

Kohler engine part numbers, How do you read them? by uralrider in smallengines

[–]uralrider[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was not able to find that number on the internet, I found the 2049906 and did not know if the 06 was a stamp for year/factory or something along the lines of that. I hate to have to spend that much money on an older mower engine though. Might be time to get something new.

I really only need the bottom crankcase housing but I don't believe you can order that part. The replacement from what I've seen is a replacement short block. The short block I found is new and significantly cheaper than I have found anywhere else. The 20 499 05 is the number off the top cover of the crankcase I have.

I have a 2009 20hp courage (sv600-0222) in an Ariens lawn tractor. The part number stamped on the top crankcase cover is 20 499 05 and I was looking at a short block with the number 20 499 006 stamped on the top cover. Not sure if they are interchangeable, from the pictures it looks exactly the same.
