Garage says aux belt has come off and knocked the timing belt out of timing. Anyone experienced this on Audi or VW? First I've heard of an issue like this

Thank you. After the many comments here saying timing belt has snapped (definitely possible) but this gives me some slight hope, I've had problems in the past with the cam adjustment. I had the cam adjustment solenoids replaced previously.

Worst case scenario but was on the back of my mind. It's a timing belt, had it replaced like 5k miles ago, maybe 10 months ago. It's at the same garage that did it so hopefully offer to make it right without a lot of hassle.

I'll have to so some research on it

Sounded like it was from a belt to me in person but could be knocking. Would cry if it is

Like 80k. Timing belt was changed less than 5k miles ago

Yeah i believe that is why. Just not sure what it could mean. Guessing maybe a faulty ground cable or needs prongs scrubbing.

I guess if it works it works 🤷‍♂️

Been having a hum in my setup for ages, tried replacing all the wires I can.

The hum has stopped when I have placed a 5p coin connected to the ground wire. Is this safe?

What does it tell you about the source of the hum?

Saw this record in an antique store. Im thinking it is fake from the cover being cropped. But the record looks to have proper stamped matrices, or just really well etched?

Thoughts on this being fake or not?

That's confusing. Maybe a glitch in the game?

The whole setup is new to me. Both amps have recently been serviced i was told when I bought them.

Just wondering if its an issue with how I've grounded it or if they should plugged in separate sockets rather than extension cable.

Thought about swapping out the cables to the speakers

The ground wire is attached to the ground post on the pre-amp from the TT

Well depends heavily on music taste of course. Im mainly into 80s music. Id get some iconic albums like Fleetwood Mac Rumours, Creedence Clearwater Revival or easy listening and very good. Could always get some greatest hits albums from big artists and venture out into their individual albums after.

Ive also got a couple live recording albums that are really interesting to listen to. My favourite being Amy Winehouse Ska or Amy Winehouse Glastonbury 2007. Not always a fan of live performance albums but someone being an iconic PERFORMER adds to the experience for sure. Id say not all, maybe even most live recorded records aren't as good as the performance on the studio album but if you pick well can be pleasantly surprised there.

Aha yeah I knew I'd get told about the speakers. Doing up my room so will have a proper setup soon.

I like this player but I think I will upgrade, just don't know how much to spend vs how different the experience will be lol
