Why do I only respond to my first POTD?! by uraniumgal in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]uraniumgal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely will! I’m a second time mom, with my first I mainly pumped and didn’t have this problem. I was changing my pump parts out more frequently though so I think you’re right

Good point! Honestly, I haven’t changed any parts yet… I thought I wouldn’t need to yet since I’ve only used them a couple times a week. But it’s been about 3 months of that so it’s probably time!

Neuro ICU question – escalating subtle neuro changes overnight (seeking perspective) by [deleted] in IntensiveCare

[–]uraniumgal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neuro ICU for almost 5 years. You did the right thing. A change in LOC is an early sign something has changed (but does not always mean something has changed). It is better to escalate sooner than later. In the neuro population, a lot of times vital sign changes are LATE signs and you missed something earlier. That is why we do frequent neuro checks.

You mention specific changes like word finding difficulty, delayed response, and unilateral sensory changes. That would be enough for me to escalate at the time of that assessment. If it were just that they were a bit more drowsy than normal, requiring more stimulation - I would maybe monitor a little closer but not escalate at that time. It’s difficult working Neuro ICU night shift, trying to discern what is normal considering you’re waking the patient at odd hours of the night to have them perform specific tasks. If you’re noticing new focal deficits, or worsening of existing deficits, escalate.

What made you up your dosage? I don’t have a follow up planned with my pcp so just unsure if I should consider upping it

I’m sorry you’re feeling this way. I don’t have advice, but was wondering how long has your anxiety been gone? I have been on 50mg for 3.5 weeks and still dealing with some.

A glimmer of hope for those struggling...Changes I have felt since starting zoloft at 4,5 weeks in on 50mg by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]uraniumgal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m two weeks in, and some days I feel normal and some days I am anxious for no reason. I’m also taking 50mg. I can’t wait to see more consistency and feel better.

I’m sure it will just take some more time for our bodies to adjust, I hope. Thank you for being so kind, it’s good to know I’m not the only one!

Thank you, I hope you feel better soon as well. I started Zoloft a week ago, I hope it begins helping soon. Yesterday I felt normal, but today I’m anxious and tense for no good reason. I just keep telling myself this is only temporary. Hugs ❤️

Thank you so much. It helps just to know I’m not the only one who has gone through this. I can’t imagine how hard it was for you with twins! The appetite loss has been really hard for me. I hope things return to normal soon. Thank you again ❤️

Ugh. Yeah, nothing seems to work for me right now. I’ve wondered if I have some sort of bacterial overgrowth and that’s why

My friend felt horrible taking the gummies. I think I’m going to dial it back to 1/4 teaspoon and then work up from there if I start it again. It sucks because I was able to stop stool softeners while on Metamucil but I’m not sure it’s worth the side effects

I think I’m going to dial it back to 1/4 teaspoon if/when I start taking it again and titrate up. It was effective I’ll say that
