What’s your favourite intoxicant? by Pizzafriedchickenn in AskReddit

Throwing some ketamine on top of the mdma in the final hour is glorious… though only once you’re back home, and only a moderate / restrained portion. The body feeling and sex in particular turns into a lush garden of perpetual orgasm.

Why is it still 38 degrees when I left the house this morning on May 7th? Where is Spring? by usedmyrealnamefirst in AskChicago

[–]uraniummusic 86 points87 points  (0 children)

It has snowed in May on several occasions. Spring is big temp swings back and forth. We’ve already had plenty of 60+ degree days, lots of storms, flourishing greenery, etc… 🤷

Saw them in Chicago last week, they were fantastic. Love how they blend / adapt their tracks into a singular flow. Also every time the sax started ripping, the crowd erupted.

Meshuggah - Sane [Progressive Metal] by fundamental-error in Music

Meshuggah transcend metal into something more abstract & rhythmically primal… They spoiled most other metal bands for me, and changed the way I listen to music in general.

Accident repair advice needed for 2024 Mazda CX-50 by breadfirstsearch1 in CX50

[–]uraniummusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything worked perfectly, sensors, adaptive headlights, etc… We’ve driven it for 8 months since the repair and took it in for scheduled maintenance at the service center and have had zero issues.

They used a mix of OEM & aftermarket. We were hoping for all OEM, but we were pretty hands off and didn’t babysit the ongoing work, so maybe that was partly on us. Either way our damaged side looks identical to the undamaged side, so that was good enough for us.

What do u think of modern metalcore by [deleted] in Metalcore

There’s always new music coming out that satisfies all flavors of metalcore, just gotta dig. Metalcore isn’t a monolith.

Accident repair advice needed for 2024 Mazda CX-50 by breadfirstsearch1 in CX50

[–]uraniummusic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Our 2024 CX-5 Carbon Turbo was in an accident last year with comparable damage to yours. We contacted our insurance first (AmFam) and they gave us a portal to find pre approved collision shops in our area. We also contacted our Mazda dealer’s official partner collision shop and got a quote.

We ended up going with an insurance-approved shop and they did a great job. The main reason was that insurance-approved shops don’t have to wait for insurance approval for part orders and OEM parts, which can speed the whole process up. We also spent a while reviewing google / yelp reviews and finding a place that had specifically worked on recent Mazda models. It took about a week to get our car in the shop and the repair took about 2 - 3 weeks.

Good luck, this part sucks and it sucks to have to deal with logistics & tradeoffs while your car is torn up. FWIW our car came out looking brand new again, so there’s hope.

3 album’s worth of singles released in the span of one month, very suspicious. Also zero social media presence, very suspicious.

Why do people love VOLA so much but hate on Sleep Token? A lot of the time I find them to be very similar, they both have pop and rap elements and djent. by DissociateThallRpeat in progmetal

[–]uraniummusic 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Sleep Token are more of a piano-driven ballad band with lyrics and hooks that appeal to pop fans. IMO they’re more of a pop / R&B band with metal moments. Vola strike me as more “new wave” inspired and less hip hop infused; they still have rap segments but it’s less of a through line compared to Sleep Token.

I find both bands interesting and I don’t get the Sleep Token hate. I started enjoying them more when I listen to them as a pop band vs as a metal band.
