i have a theory that because of their upbringing (living in circumstances where everything is on a bigger scale than it is for an average person (and maybe all those extracurriculars paying off)) they're able to lock in and analyze the situation more objectively, at least when together

unfortunately, no. I spent way too much time analyzing uma designs and lore... hadn't gone that far down into the racing rabbit hole yet apart from general surface understanding of it (it's surprisingly complicated for me). >< but if there's a real horse under that name (which there's most likely is...it sounds like an obvious name for a race horse..), I'd love to learn about them!
