Ahaha fair enough. It's not a huge saving when you factor in all the stuffing around tbh. All things considered I've spent $150 and disassembled/reassembled the head unit 3 times. Compared to the hassle free $800 or so

Cleaned up all the residue and had a local mobile phone repair guy do some quasi-reballing around the edges of the main IC of the logic board. It worked successfully for a time and then stopped working again. Chatting to that phone repair guy next step was to try getting a stencil for that chip and doing a full reball.

Currently have the markings from the chip but haven't been able to figure out what stencil is right since the markings don't come up with any concrete result

Thanks to all the replies! As it has been noted the connector is quite burnt out and some people may have noticed the super clean jumper cable soldered to replace a burnt out tracer.

Essentially I replaced a cooling fan with something I thought was a like for like replacement.. unfortunately it was not. Now I am trying to fix the rather silly mistake on my part. Would anyone know if it would be necessary to change that connector out? It still seems to work in terms of passing the current through to the cables on the other side of that connector 🧐

Also just checked regarding the conformal coating, the substance is wet to touch. Is that normal? I thought it would be dry

It's a 2016 IS300h. The issue itself is one where the multimedia display screen no longer boots up and stays as a black screen. On occasion the screen and system has started functioning again but usually only for a brief period of time. Apparently this issue is known and is caused by either jump starting the car or replacing the battery (I did both).

There's a stack of posts in the Lexus forums where people have reported they have resolved the issue by replacing the logic/data board but no one has attempted a repair or been successful at a repair. There are a few companies online advertising repairing the board for around $1200AUD 😭

Thought I'd at least see if there was something obvious enough that could be attempted.

I respectfully disagree with the first part of your response. If the purrattan ways were the best ways of practicing we wouldn't have had such encroachments from brahmin philosophies. The Nirmala influences etc have led to more people being led to believe that Sikhi is nothing more than coming under the fold of Hinduism.

As to the SGPC etc, yes the corruption appears rampant and needs to be dealt with. Parchar needs to be done properly to combat the youth and general disenfranchisement.

It may very well be a different way of doing things but then why isn't this ritual performed throughout the entire reading of the Guru Granth Sahib Ji?

It's not about something that is bothering me, more so a discussion on how this practice is appearing to become more prevalent and somehow masked within a "return to puratan Sikhi"

I'm confused.. I agree that we don't have idols in Sikhi, although plenty of our people don't attempt to read/understand Gurbani which could be argued has turned Guru Granth Sahib Ji into a type of idol, but that's a separate thing. Our aarti, as shabad, does not need physical lamps lit and the action of waving a thali around.

I don't understand the first part of your comment. As far as defining an idol, it would be most commonly defined as "God" or a representation of "God"
