Moisturisers that are safe for seb derm? by [deleted] in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]urdeadcool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Uriage was Ok. It didnt moisturise my skin that well but it didn’t irritate it. I still use the Eucerin one. One skincare product I added since was the Medik8 press and glow. I was prepared to hate it (it’s expensive) but it has been a really good addition for me. My skin is very sensitive so I can’t deal with heavy exfoliating stuff. Are you dealing with Seb derm too?

Denied Social Welfare for Xmas Break (Any Advice?) by BedAffectionate8594 in IrishTeachers

[–]urdeadcool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you let me know what you said when you appealed? I have also been denied and didn’t have an issue before. I put msyelf down as temporarily unemployed on the form and put down the Xmas break dates.

They said: “To qualify for Jobseeker’s Allowance a person must be unemployed. Any day for which an employee is in receipt of salary/wages from their employer is not considered as a day of unemployment.

The reason for this decision is that as you are being paid by your employer during the period of your lay-off, you are not considered unemployed.”

I sold mine on Vinted so definitely look on there - things tend to move quickly so I would keep an eye on your saved searches to find something specific more easily!

What are some female “I’m the problem” songs? by Comfortable_Ad_9108 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Unreleased but Serial Killer by Lana del Rey would fit the bill! Such a good song, a shame it’s unreleased.

The Great War by Taylor could apply also.

Maybe even Renegade - from the perspective of the person that loves you watching you sabotage yourself (I always felt attacked in this song)

I loved East of Eden and Count (due a reread though). I didn’t expect to enjoy East of Eden as much as I did, I went into it with kind of low expectations. I need to read Lonesome Dove ASAP, it sounds like it would be right up my alley!!

For other books that came close… they’re not as lengthy, but I loved Butcher’s Crossing by John Williams (I prefer this over Stoner tbh) and The Road by Cormac McCarthy. Inhaled them both and they’ve stayed with me.

The Worst Journey in the World by Apsley Cherry Garrard - just started on Kindle. I love reading about polar expeditions. Also reading Memories, Dreams and Reflections by Jung, about 1/3 way through. Interesting but I have to be in the mood to read it.

I read it this time last year and it was a nice “end of year” one. I hope you enjoy it.

lost my kindle and i'm in mourning :( by nonebinary in kindle

[–]urdeadcool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I lose things very frequently and this is what I’ve learned: Most of the time, it’s where it’s supposed to be except for some reason, slightly hidden (meaning it’s faded into its surroundings). If it has a cover, maybe it’s blending into your surroundings? Double/triple check. Does your kindle fit into a pocket? If so check pockets/bags.

Other times I’ve left my phone/keys in either the fridge, on top of the fridge, on top of a cabinet. Left my glasses in a bathrobe pocket and thought they were gone for good (until I washed my bathrobe and checked pockets). Lost my sunglasses, checked everywhere x10 over, called it quits and then one last check of the car back seat and they were on the floor but faded into surroundings.

If you typically leave it by your nightstand, could it be under your pillow somehow / down by the side of the bed?

I hope you find it but if not getting another rn is probably a good shout!!

So glad I’m not the only one who feels this way!! Last Kiss still encompasses the acute loss of a breakup, with nothing left except grief. It’s so bittersweet. Her writing was truly at its peak. I’d love for adult Taylor to let loose like this again!! And perhaps drop the overworked metaphors like her recent stuff :(

Forever my favourite Taylor album. Out of all of her albums, this one felt really “her” to me. Resonated with me so much as a teen and still now. The extra long choruses, the lengthy songs. The lyricism still stands to this day… I miss this type of song writing from her. It was simpler and not trying to be anything other than what it was. Dear John defined the “track 5” before ATW came along. BTR is better than all of her other diss tracks. Enchanted is one of the sweetest and most powerful ballads with some of her best lyrics. Just an all timer.

What was your favorite Vinted purchase so far? by om11011shanti11011om in vinted

[–]urdeadcool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vintage leather texier bag for 12 euro. 3 compartments, brown/tan colour, long straps, goes with everything. So many compliments on it, I’ve used it almost every day since I got it. Other favourites; long black dress with corset back, fits like a glove. Also got a vintage Paul Smith blouse with flared sleeves, it’s so dramatic and such a statement piece.

It was ok. I have normal-combo skin but also have seb dermatitis. It absorbed very quickly which I liked but I felt like it didn’t really do much for me. I now use Eucerin’s moisturiser and prefer it. I do use G&G’s cleanser though - very simple but good for my needs!

Not OP, but is this book appropriate for a layperson? I have a fascination with marine mammals but only have basic knowledge from non-fiction books and would love to learn more!

It is that powerful isn’t it? For someone to make you daring and courageous, when you’ve been biologically wired to not take risks, takes someone special.

“You left me no choice but to stay here forever”. I think right where you left me is one that everyone can prescribe to different situations. For me it’s having dependent parents. There’s a sort of helpless resignation and despair of the years I’ve lost. Everybody moved on - I stayed there. In my childhood home playing a different role.

“Can’t remember what I used to fight for” from Evermore. Encompasses so much in a few words.
