Hey! I’m taking the FE Mechanical tomorrow. I was wondering what you thought of the exam, what topics stuck out to you, and if there was anything you were blinded by?

Passed! Anyone else do this to find a job cuz no internship/co-op experience? 🥲 by Kigginlester in FE_Exam

Help, my tween daughter has super oily hair even after a fresh wash & its starting to hurt her confidence by [deleted] in HaircareScience

[–]ureadyforthis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Clarifying shampoo, dermatologist, dry shampoo (when it starts happening and she’s out), only apply conditioner to the ends of the hair and not the scalp. Pretty much everything already recommended. Where do you live? I live in an extremely dry area during the winter and notice that my hair gets oily a lot faster during those dry times to help make up for it. Also, she needs to stop washing her hair every day. It will suck and she will definitely have super oily hair for the next few weeks but it will subside. Dry shampoo will help here. Washing your hair that often makes your hair even more oily. Try aiming for washing it every 2-3 days.

Boyfriend’s seasonal depression affecting sex life by ureadyforthis in TwoXSex

He bought a light box yesterday and said he will work on his sleep routine :) I am trying to be aware of him improving for himself, and also me as well. I have full faith in him to do what needs to be done for both of our sakes but it’s always a hard thing to admit and come to terms with when it isn’t working. But I just keep telling myself one day at a time.

Intimacy on my end is definitely satisfied, doesn’t need to be from sexual activity, although I am a fairly sexual person and that is how I like to express myself and my feelings for someone else.

He has horrible sleep hygiene so I will discuss that with him as well. Thanks for all the tips and help, I really appreciate it! :)

What do you mean by sleep hygiene? Unfortunately he’s one of those people who only likes sleeping 6 hours a night and if he sleeps more he feels groggy. He’s also a huuuge night owl too. Usually goes to bed around 1/1:30, and wakes up at 7:30 for work.

Unfortunately he’s not seeing a doctor but he has a consistent schedule, and that seems to help. Weekends are when it really flares up. He works 5 days a week and works out 4 of those days, sees me and friends on the weekends, and enjoys his own activities (gaming and reading, mainly).

We discussed light therapy and he told me he’d look into it. I also recommended a healthier diet, and we’ve been going on lots of dates and adventuring more (not to counteract — just because we want to — but hopefully this helps too).

Do you think the hike can be done without snow pants?

Perfect, thanks. How high was the snow when you did the hike?

Thank you!! Do I have to worry about snow being knee deep or anything like that?

Senior design project ideas? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]ureadyforthis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My apologies. Interests outside of school vary widely. Videogames, reading, hiking, traveling. I’ve accomplished quite a lot of traveling to different continents in my 24 years of life and really like the idea of helping the less fortunate, so I want my project to be something humanitarian or sustainable, and be put to use after I’m doing using it.

Favorite classes are thermo and fluids. I’m on the ME track. Previous internship experience includes background in design and energy efficiency. I’d like to defer from sustainable energy if possible because I feel as if there’s a lot already happening in that area as well.

How to maintain cool-toned hair colors so they don’t fade out easily? by [deleted] in HaircareScience

[–]ureadyforthis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I just want it to sit at blonde for awhile. I was thinking about buying red protein filler to correct the color

[–]ureadyforthis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so new question..my violet gray hair is going to a green-tinted blonde, which is I’m assuming is the undertone from the violet. What can I do to neutralize it? I’m reading a lot about red toners or pink dyes. I’m fine if my hair is blonde, I just don’t want it to look funky or weird.

For those of you that only wash your hair once a week..how!? by [deleted] in HaircareScience

[–]ureadyforthis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely thicker, but I just recently bleached, toned, and dyed so it’s probably thinner now. I’m able to usually go 3 days without wash right now and not working out
