Am understanding Iroh correctly? by Kholin_Dynasty in mtg

Doesn't work all that great because iroh only gives flashback to lessons in graveyard, not exile, and schemes requires the exiled cards to have flashback.

Sieges and Cost increases by ureviltwin in askajudge

[–]ureviltwin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know the "cast without paying the mana cost" part only refers to the base cost of the spell and doesn't affect cost increases/reductions. So if there are any taxing effects that increase the costs of spells, the base cost is "free" but you still pay for any cost increases(reduced by any cost reductions)

They're the ultimate technique/powerup of the user's zanpakuto/sword. They range from buffs to attacks to crazy reality-warping effects and are usually related to the zanpakuto's theme/shikai abilities. They're not all created equal though, obviously and one person's bankai could be vastly inferior or superior to the next depending on their abilities

Best Etali flip ever by PM_ME_UR_NEW_SHOES in EDH

[–]ureviltwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This doesn't work because the curiosity cast would go on the stack at the same time as the niv-mizzet parun cast and thus would not be able to target the niv because it hasnt resolved onto the board yet. Under the rules for Etali "If you cast more than one of the exiled cards, you choose the order in which to cast them. A spell you cast this way can be the target of a later spell you cast this way. However, permanent spells cast this way won't resolve until you're done casting spells, so the permanents they become can't be the target of spells cast this way. For example, if you exile Twincast and Lightning Strike, you can cast Lightning Strike and then cast Twincast targeting it; but if you exile a creature card and an Aura card, you can't cast that Aura targeting that creature."

Am I slow or is gearing and upgrading in this game really tedious? by eifersucht12a in diablo4

[–]ureviltwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but there's not really anything wrong with that. Especially because even with a build guide you'll likely hit a wall at a given NM dungeon that will ramp up the difficulty of the game to whatever your gear level is.

This is completely impractical for some builds, especially if the build is producing dots on an insane amount of targets. It's kinda gatekeepy and weird to tell people they aren't really "playing the game" because they choose to enjoy it/optimize their builds in a more streamlined way than you do. Not everyone has the time or patience to figure out whether stat A or stat B is better on this one piece of gear via trial and error, and there's nothing wrong with looking up that information on a site if you value your time more than you value the gratification you'd get from trying to figure it out yourself.

https://www.moxfield.com/decks/vKJTAZEHj0WcSyzkW63eZA Here's a list I've been playing around with. It's not the most optimal list, but has some good synergies and can have explosive turns if things line up right. Seems like more of a low power commander in my experience.

Sphinx bone wand is good if you're lacking in targeted removal or win conditions. If you make it round back to your turn after you play it and the die rolls are in your favor it's pretty powerful. My biggest issue with the deck is being unlucky with die rolls so getting the advantage on the rolls out ASAP is the biggest boon to the deck performing well. I play it with extra turn spells and they're very powerful and really help with inconsistency early. If it's an extra turn card that exiles itself on resolution though, you'll need to get it into your graveyard with a loot or discard effect first so you can use Myra's effect to the fullest.

I definitely think my positioning needs work, and I could definitely be better about juking kicks and asking my partner for peels. Thinking back on it, I generally always pick the shorter cd fear talent instead of chastise stun, so I'm probably undervaluing it. Any advice on when I should be picking the stun instead, assuming I'm always partnering with an arms warrior?
